Of course, the Chinese central government claims this is to stop "false reporting." I say it is to stop the billions of Chinese from having any truthful contact with the rest of the world, and to keep as many of China's terrible secrets just that - secrets.

I can only imagine how they are getting set up to "sanitize" the country for the Olympics. And still we MUST trade with and support this economy - but Cuba? NO NO - can't do business with THOSE Commies! Our government is the epitome of hypocrisy.

NOTED !! Thanks Cate, it seems the Chinese want to SELL/SENDl us everything but the truth. I'm sure that as soon as oub big corporations find some way to profit from trade with Cuba the Cuban government will become, like China, "Good Commies" I'd love to visit Cuba and can't see any logical reason to have an embargo against them. I mean, what the hell, is Cuba going to invade the U.S.A.? cheney and bush are insane with their QUEST FOR CONTROL over other countries, so lets make friends with Cuba one person at a time. Believe me, we need all the friends we can get !!
Peace, Cal...
Support Dennis Kucinich and HB. 333. IMPEACH NOW !!!!!!

No double standards here....right? The "dictatorships" of the world will follow Bushes lead. Like puppy dogs, they leash themselves to the Master of deceptions. It fills their pockets too!! The "rich" cling together like thieves, because thats what they are....thieves!!!

And yet...who represents us in our feelings about China? Those of us who wish to stop borrowing and trading with this despicably barbaric government are drowned out by the tsunami of those who make the $$$ from their poisonous exports and slave labor. This includes Congress as well as BUSHCO and their corporate masters.

Don't be fooled into thinking problems like this are local to China, the same compianies that put profits first in China put profits first in the US. Keep an eye on whats happening in China beacause you might not here about it happening in the US.

All the comments here are very true. But do not forget China already has a foothold on Africa as a good well gesture to help them out!!!!!!! B.S. Bigtime!!!!!!!!!!!! The blacks can not possible match the sneaky superiority of the chinese way of thinking............I think there is a master plan here in the works to use Africa as a stepping stone for some military or social agenda......................

But, it is possible the chinese may falter on their own home grounds ecologically and politically. The chinese government is really cracking down on the rights of the people very hard........And taking care of 1.3 billion people seems like an impossibilty given the amount of natural resources needed....................

Final thought........................If the chinese were a bit dumber they would be a whole smarter...............

Someone told me
If I wanted to see
Snowflakes again
I must plant trees................................

China has been cracking down on the news media for years. The only difference is now the Internet is picking up what is going on China by students who visit Internet cafe's and post news articles. I caught they are jailed without hesitation.

I would like to interject here that much like our own government does thing that we don't approve of, neither can the people in China be blamed for everything their government does. Most of them are just trying to live their lives, some in very bad conditions. I feel for those anywhere that are going through a hard time with natural disasters. Hate only breeds more hate. They are people too just like us and most of them probably don't like the choices their government is making either. I know I'm not totally thrilled with what mine is doing but yet we can't seem to impeach so called leaders that deserve to be out. Do I deserve a drought and flood because of their choices that I cannot control? Please think people and open your heart.

Like the majority of us not happy with our government, I can only imagine what the people of China live with every day.

I don't like to sound Republican. Back in the early 70s some people I knew went to the People's Republic of China. They returned with glowing accounts of 'the Cultural Revolution'.

Sure enough, many years later we learned the truth. Millons of innocent people imprisoned. Parents turned in by their children.

Now that America is starting to become like China people are beginning to notice.

For heaven's sake, BOYCOTT WAL-MART! Stop buying Chinese goods.

I wrote a letter to His Holiness the Dalai Lama suggesting the IOC play the Tibetan National Anthem at the Olympics next year. We need all the support of oppressed people we can.

The art of war. There are types of war besides physical combat. There is economic war, there are subtleties of war, like sneaking poisons into the country by way of commodities......Americans have never been keen on subtleties.....wouldn't really recognize that kind of attack. That's why we're so vulnerable to terrorist attacks.

We're so trusting, so relaxed in our ways. I think I'd like us to toughen up a little. It seems like we aren't alert because we are so well fed, so to speak. Hungry people are more on edge and more aware of their surroundings, don't take so much for granted, and see more of what happens around them.

Americans are eating so many growth hormones in our food we have become fattened for someone to harvest.

Tsandi.......Very good assessment of the American way of thinking, and of the poor. But the poor are good targets for promises made and promises never kept..................The promise makers are the rich dangling anything they think the poor want in front of them.

As in the Google video Web Of Lies the wealthy will sell us all out to get what they want.......Which is power. However, the rich think they will not suffer in any way of the global warming for some reason and they think no one will turn on them which is not true.................

To pray is a great thought but doing something is a whole lot better.........We must put so much more thinking into what the politicians are saying and question their idea, motives and scrutinize their agenda's...........

I you love snowflakes
Plant trees.................................

Noted! There isn't anything else China could do that would surprise me. Sometimes I think they enjoy playing cat and mouse games with the US. Can someone please tell me how in the world they were awarded the next Olympics?
