Yes, most of us despise the war in Iraq, but many of us have sympathy for and support the men & women fighting it. You can say "thank you" to the troops overseas at this site. I bet they appreciate it too! Thanks to Jan P. for suggesting this posting.

I have already done this. My nephew fought with the 101st Airborne in Iraq and he said the most wonderful thing to get was a message from home!

He also said most of the troops on the ground know this war is and unwinnable sham and their main objective is to support each other and get as many troops home alive as possible!

You can do more than that. Tell them you love them and that you are proud of them. send them food and things that are handy in the desert. Oddly, enough send the tampons. Some of the marines (men) received them as gifts and finding they are highly effective with deep wound. doctors tell them in some cases that they would have bleed out by the time they got to surgery if it were not for the tamponl So this one group all carry one and the corp men or medic carries extra. Strange but true. think of thinks in addition to favorite foods like cookies about ways to clean up when out in the desert to get the sand out of their face ears etc.
baby wipes I don't know but you ladies are masters of the practical. these children of ours are doing what they took vows to do and they are being faithful to their vows. We should all get such people in our lives.
there is much to respect and be proud of.... and as a man I know men need to have pride and to especially have the respect of their friends, and especially of the women in their lives and woman in general. (vain as we are) Send a picture so they know a real person is behind this message. Save the politics and lectures for those who need it ; the president and the politicians at home. and vote don't vent on the soldiers. they are truly the good guys.

Thank you for sharing this site with us. I just sent several cards and have bookmarked the site so that I can continue to send cards as a small token of appreciation and encouragement to our servicemen/women.

I would never ever say an unkind thing about our troops. They don't want to be there any more than we want them to be. I have one nephew already there and another one to go in November. You bet I will encourage them but I will also fight for their rights when they get out of this hellish situation. Just because the war will be over doesn't mean that they will be able to take up where they left off. "The decider" has already cut veterans benefits and benefits to their families, given them substandard care and for me, that is totally unexceptable.

What a wonderful site. thank you for sharing. I sent a card and will do weekly to let our troops know how much we care about them and Apprieciate their hard work to keep our country safe. My prayers are with our brave young men and women and their families and for the fallen soldiers who died with honor... God bless each and every one of you.

I don't and never will blame the people fighting in this war based on lies. That was a HUGE MISTAKE in the Vietnam WAR -let's not even go in that direction again. We are here safe and sound and can't begin to understand the pressure, trauma, and stress they are under ever moment, particularly with the way Bushco plays with their lives by extending them over and over again. I have sent cards before and will continue to do so. Thank you to every vet in every war. You are one of us, and have only done what we couldn't/wouldn't/didn't and you are not to blame for this disgusting war. Having to live with the memories is this administration's legacy to you. We would take it away and bring you home safe and sound to your families NOW if we could. Noted

Thanks, Cate. What a joy to have this site. And, Bob, thank you for the excellent information--things I would not have thought of.

This, I can do. It is the GIs fault that he or she is serving under a disgraceful and conniving, deceitful man who should have his citizenship revoked and become a man without a country. He has forsaken his. Same for Cheney and All of BushCo.

I have done this through many sites and wish more would show their support of our troops, despite their feelings about the Iraqui war! I have many friends deployed over there and they say the best is the words they get from their families and the Americans in support of them.

Thanks Cate. I hope people have learned a lesson by the Vietnam War and how government used the Media to defend their War Crimes by pitting those who were fighting against the War to bring their loved ones home and stop the genocide by being called the UN-Patriotic or against the soldiers fighting the War. It has always been the perfect "spin" to continue the blood bath and killing of thousands of innocent "on both sides". Don't fall for the "con". It is the most noble of all patriotic acts to protest the killing of countless innocent and bring our loved ones home, especially when we know, beyond any doubt whatsoever, that we are defending "bad faith". [LIES AND DECEPTION] It is unconscionable and immoral to defend a lie, and we have disgraced ourselves in no difference to the Germans who fell into Hitlers trap. Trials for War Crimes MUST be forthcoming and those responsible MUST be held accountable, or we are our own worst enemy!! End the War and we End the Lie!! Not one more person should DIE FOR A LIER!!!

They have not and we have lost our children to their beliefs & actions...................
