As usual, the street Nazis overreacted and inflamed the entire situation. Whatever happened to right to free assembly?

Write, call and email this guy. He is the guy who is handling this BS for the mayor and the DPW. As far as I can tell anyway. Ask him who else has been similarly charged, fined and harrassed for disseminating political material. He has yet to answer my queries and I will remind him that I will be sending a FOIA if he continues the stonewall.

Hi Kevin,

I hope you enjoyed the Labor Day weekend.
I was wondering if you ever got the OK from the General Council. I realize how exceedingly slow the gears of bureaucracy grind, but I wanted to write
while I was thinking about this.
So you don't have to sift through the rest of this email, here is the original request you are helping me with:

The question I would like an answer to is simply this: What others --
> especially politicians --
> > have been fined under this same statute ((DCMR Title 24, Section 108).
> I would simply like a
> > list
> > of all those who have been similarly fined in the past year.

Thanks again Kevin, enjoy the day,

Dave

Yep, seems to be more censuring than with Viet Nam. Still they attacked and stopped protest then, as well.
Never remember hearing about signs be taken down & fines presented, or signs not allowed. This is new with Bush.

People have been putting stickers such as:

- Impeach Bush/Cheney
- 9/11 was an Inside Job
- End the War in Iraq
- etc.

on Stop Signs all over the country. We paid for those signs. The Red Stop Sign is appropriate. More people should take this easy dissident action to get this apathetic country to wake up.

If peaceful actions don't end this war and get rid of the gangsters in the White House, One is afraid that things will get violent, so let's take as many peaceful actions as possible to avoid this.

The easiest, most legal way to protest the War, and in some case trim One's waistline, is to drastically cut economic consumption. If you don't live in America, quit buying American products of any kind. They just fuel the war brought to the world courtesy of the big corporations.

Stop consuming. Be dissident. Don't give up.

They don't plan on giving up. The Bin Laden video is the biggest hoax. Bin Laden doesn’t exist. The picture you see on the networks doesn’t look anything like him. Timed around the anniversary of 9/11. The Saudis and BushCO. are in a coordinated effort to keep the American people in a state of Terror forever, so that oil can be 4 times the level it was before 9/11, forever. So our Constitution will disappear, forever.

Our gangster government is no different than the Mafia and their "protection money". They attack us on 9/11 with tax payer money. Then they "protect us from themselves" with tax payer money. They attack our very basic need of security. They are both the disease and the cure. They are nothing but an elected Mafia.

The large majority of the Republican Party are part of this Mob of Terror. Even a portion of the Democratic Party are accomplices in this Mobster terror. Tools of the Illuminati.

One Love will never give up until these gangsters are part of the history books.

The entire city of Washington is painted with gang graffiti, and the Metrobuses and bus shelters are plastered with giant commercial ads. Posters have been pasted to construction site barriers and electrical walls since before the city council and mayor's office were created, advertising nightclubs, concerts and demonstrations. Only ANSWER has been targeted. Day-glo hip-hop posters and graffiti remain everywhere.

Mayor Adrian Fenty is a shady character. His thuggish campaign staff physically assaulted volunteers for the other candidates during the mayoral election. Fenty is known for his narrow, insulated pack of aides, and his peculiar, Al Capone style hat.

This was the inevitable outcome of the grand design. I've spoken about my concerns in these forums many, many times. The blodshed in the streets is only now beginning. Bush did his summer diplomatic entertaining largely in Maine so as to delay this until September. As September 15th approaches and his next two international leaders meet with him at the White House again, riots will be incited deliberately so that POTUS CAN INVOKE MARTIAL LAW. It has been the intent all along. Yes, be concerned...even afraid. Some will pay a very hefty price for this, as Margaret noted. There has never been a time in our country when dissent did not exact a price. May God help us...Congress won't unless they move swiftly to take away Executive Privilege which is how Bush governs. And Congress could so easily do so!

Actually DC is not totally covered in gang graffiti, DC is a beautiful city (in some areas) ... though you are correct about it being plastered with posters, flyers, big commercial ads for just about everything... It is absurd that ANSWER has been targeted in this way... but it has been expected for the government to try and discredit and disrupt any and all anti-war protesters...
Mayor Fenty is a thug and just as corrupt as the city's past leaders. The Districts government has been violating people's constitutional rights for years.... most not concerned by it as long as it only affected DC residents!
Like Cate and others my concern is with the safety of the protesters... knowing Bush & Co, along with District police will do anything to disrupt and discredit the people....and incite violence amongst the crowds... the people must be prepared!

Noted! Sounds like Nazi Germany. I will say what I said in the Post when I made my comments on that article. We have a constitutional right to protest. However, GWB says the Constitution of the United States is just a GD piece of paper and he treats it as such. It is not only our right to question our government, it is our duty when we think they are wrong. This administration is so far off base, it isn't even in the ballpark. Lord Help Us All.

Agents Provocateurs Deployed at SPP Summit

9/11 Blogger
Thursday, August 23, 2007

Dear Alex Jones, et al,

That is me in the black shirt, with the 'Toronto 911 Truth' sign, & the megaphone.

http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/august2007/220807_b_truth.htm
http://www.911blogger.com/node/10802

I was well within earshot of the agents-provocateurs incident.

http://infowars.net/articles/august2007/220807Provocateurs_SPP.htm

I have no doubt that your story is absolutely correct. I remember, at the time, telling people that "This was 'a small, street-level, false-flag operation' - JUST LIKE 9/11 !!"

The attached picture is a bigger, better, & higher-resolution one than the one in your original story(s);
(attached below)

It confirms to any 'doubting Thomas' that ALL 3 MEN IN THE VIDEO WERE 'GOVERNMENT-CONTROLLED AGENTS-PROVOCATEURS'!!

As you can see in this item, 'controlled mass-media' such as CBC, & CTV, did NOT report THIS story; Instead they completely misrepresented the truth to each of their respective national (Canadian) audiences.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILTtIGVRS9k

Controlled mass-media, & Canada's PM Stephen Harper, claimed that ' there were (merely) hundreds of protesters, but I, & two other witnesses there all day, estimated the numbers to be between 1600 & 2000.

[Ironically, the Union leader, & the political activist, Maude Barlow (Council of Canadians), in the video of 'agents-provocateurs', NEVER mentioned '911 Truth' - even once - throughout all of their very extensive speeches at the SPP !! '911 Truth' needs to educate the labor movement, & very many other 'political activists', about 911 truth, & the importance of communicating it, in turn, to the wider population.]

Thank you.

Activists Question If SPP Provocateur Orders Came From Prime Minister

Flashback: Canadian Police Caught Attempting To Stage Riots

A video recently posted on YouTube documents a strange occurrence at a recent protest during the recent Montebello Summit in Québec, Canada, which has activists questioning the motives of police, and suspicious that the orders came down from the Prime Minister's office.

Masked men were spotted near the riot police, who held back despite one man holding a large rock, himself and two others appearing to attempt an incitement to riot. The three were confronted by other attendees and eventually handcuffed and taken away.

During the confrontation, one of the three appears to be talking directly to one of the officers.

(Article continues below)

Union President Dave Coles at a recent news conference: "The Communications, Energy and Paper Workers Union of Canada believes that the security force at Montebello were ordered to infiltrate our peaceful assembly and to provoke incidents."

In addition to the video footage, the three suspected plants wore the same brand boots, as evidenced by the soles, as the Sûreté du Québec riot police. Neither the SQ, nor the RCMP, commented; each initially denied planting agents provocateurs.

"Oops. Somebody took a picture," quips Coles.

Former police officer Doug Kirkland, who runs a private security, says that planting undercover police at protests is beneficial when used to root out true troublemakers, but, says Kirkland while viewing the video footage: "That's a very slippery slope."

Continues Kirkland, "I think you're stretching the bounds of proper police intelligence when you're doing that kind of work."

Sûreté du Québec later issued a press release confirming that the three men in question were indeed officers, there to maintain order rather than disrupt the protest, and that no crime was committed.

Long-time lawyer for activists Lawrence Greenspon calls for politicians to act.

"There's a serious issue about proper police conduct here," says attorney Lawrence Greenspon, a longtime defender of protesters.

"I think the people that represent us in the legislature should be looking at some form of legislation that says 'Wait a second. This is not proper use of police resources, and we should be setting guidelines.'"

"This is the face of it," says Dave Coles, "where people can't even ask a question without having to face these kind of goons," referring to riot police, who are said to attempt to incite violence with aims to suppress speech, even when the activity takes place in designated spaces.

"It's time that all the secrecy and backroom deals end."

Minister of Safety Stockwell Day deflects blame from the RCMP, encouraging utilization of the "complaints process" available through the SQ.

It is good to VIDEO all incidents at a protest: VIDEO the agents provocateurs and cops, as was done at the SPP summit as well as Washington D.C. We have SEEN how it RESTRAINS the agents provocateurs and the cops! THEY SURE DON'T LIKE TO BE CAUGHT RED-HANDED DOING SOMETHING BAD!
Agents provocateurs were successfully used by the govt in the 1960's and '70's to actually DESTROY a potential Social Change movement. People were pretty naive, then.

Agents provocateurs were ALSO present at the WTO protests in Seattle. AGENTS PROVOCATEURS STARTED BREAKING WINDOWS OF SMALL BUSINESSES AND LOOTING; thereby encouraging silly young people, and people NOT OTHERWISE INVOLVED IN THE PROTESTS, to do the SAME. The REAL WTO protestors, who had been preparing for these huge demos for weeks, with workshops, teach-ins, non-violent training sessions etc., tried to STOP the agents provocateurs from breaking windows of businesses; but with limited success. Some of the agents provocateurs were RECOGNIZED as Police, by people in the protests.
And, most telling, THE POLICE DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO STOP THE WINDOW-BREAKING. NOTHING AT ALL. The Police -- and the Federal govt they got their orders from -- WANTED the WTO protests to get a bad rap, which they did, being described in the press as "riots".

Agents Provocateurs have actually been used as long as "false flag" operations have been used -- that is, thruout all of history.
They will be used against us AGAIN, as we protest the Bush regime -- BUT THIS TIME WE CAN'T AFFORD TO BE NAIVE ABOUT IT. WE MUST BE PREPARED AND EXPECT IT.

Not only must VIDEO CAMERAS be brought to protests -- but, excitable young people {and others!} must be WARNED IN ADVANCE;
ANYONE RECOMMENDING VIOLENT ACTION IS ALMOST CERTAINLY A POLICE PROVOCATEUR TRYING TO TRAP YOU.
Trap you into committing actions that will get you arrested and therefore out of the way; that will give your protests a bad name; and, that will BRING DOWN VIOLENCE UPON THE OTHER, NON-VIOLENT PROTESTORS.

I REPEAT, NO-ONE, NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON, CAN AFFORD TO BE NAIVE AS IN PAST YEARS.
IF SOMEONE RECOMMENDS ANY VIOLENT ACT AT ALL, AGAINST EITHER PERSONS, OR PROPERTY, THEY ARE DEFINITELY A POLICE PROVOCATEUR.

Those advocating violent acts should be IMMEDIATELY isolated, and persons TRAINED IN NON-VIOLENT ACTION should PUT THEMSELVES BETWEEN THE POLICE PROVOCATEURS DISGUISED AS PROTESTORS, AND THE POTENTIAL OBJECTS OF THEIR VIOLENT ACTS.

Yes, it is almost certain that BLOOD WILL RUN IN THE STREETS. The Bushies are COUNTING ON IT; as an excuse to bring down Martial Law on everyone.
THE VIOLENCE WILL COME FROM THE GOVERNMENT, AND NOT FROM THE PROTESTORS. The protestors must be prepared, spiritually and physically, to make some sacrifices. BUT NOT SACRIFICES OF THEIR NON-VIOLENT PRINCIPLES.

Look at the history of police in the US.

They didn't start out to protect and serve, they started out to bust unions and protect the interests of the rich.

They are all scum.....

Now, before anyone yells at me, just remember that if there are any good ones they would be speaking up against the militarization of the police and their abuses against the people and the Constitution....AND they would have had to have been speaking up about these things for years.

They don't speak up, they just collect a paycheck.

That makes them complicit.

I don't advocate violence, but I can tell you one thing and that is if a cop ever needs my help, he sure as shit ain't gonna get it.

Fascism in in its finest moments. The police always overreact to anything they disagree with. And this is not an isolated incident. But these are only minor skirmishes. Wait until Sept. 15, when protesters will be there by the thousands. Vets against the Iraq are going to do a "die in" during the demonstration, and Cindy Sheehan is going to participate in the "die in" in honor of her son's memory, Casey.

The Bush Gestape will be out in force wreaking havac where ever they go. It's going to get violent, because Bush is getting desperate.

Cate to answer your question: By executive order Bush made protesting the Iraq war a criminal offense. The case is going to heard in a federal court to determine if Bush can violate the First Amendment by modifying it to only include peaceful demonstrations. My own opinion is that the law is unconstitutional.

There is something else we can all do. Join with the many groups who are going to meditate/pray for peace on September 11th. We are here focusing on what is wrong...and it is very wrong. Yet, let us not be consumed by the wrong. Let's lift our consciousness to the truth that love is stronger than fear and prepare the way for something transformative to happen on the 15th. Stickers, cyber crusades, protests, yes and much more, but don't ever let them shake our firm awareness that in the end, truth will prevail. Know deep in your heart that we shall have peace, liberty and justice. It is that knowledge, that faith, that will bring into manifestation what we know should be.
