The best possible thing we can do right now for the security of our country is to show, in force, that the citizens and the Senate and the House will impeach Bush and Cheney for High Crimes and Misdemeanors.

We need to show that NO ONE approves of their actions in this country, and we need to show it NOW!

Noted, but regretfully.

Many years ago I was involved with a lawsuit against the federal government and I believed that my phone was tapped. I thought that was wonderful and every chance I'd get, I'd get on the phone and tell them exactly what I thought of them. I figured it was one of the few times in my life that anyone in the government would listen to what I had to say. :)

Let the illegal "Law" die at sunset! The Democrats don't NEED to rewrite it - it's wrong & UNnecessary!!!
"...Meanwhile, McConnell defended the new FISA legislation Monday when he testified with three other senior officials before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, urging Congress to make the August fix permanent. Like Bond, he also made a plea for liability protections for telecommunications firms.

“If we could get retroactive liability protection in the current time frame, it would put us in a very good position going forward,” said McConnell. He also warned that if the new bill is not extended beyond its sunset, “we will lose, [by] my estimate, 50 percent of our ability to track, understand and know about these terrorists.”
Of course a RepubliCON would make such unfounded, unproven, UNTruthful statements. FISA was fine before Bu$h bent it illegally, and Congre$$ "fixed" it so it was No Longer illegal (just immoral!).

Noted! Thanks, Cate!

Both my Senators and my Congressman are all Dems, but I'll get on it immediately, if not sooner! To wait for that excrescence Congress signed off in the waning minutes before recess is to allow it to continue too long! It needs to be addressed NOW!

Mark S.: Thanks! I needed that laugh!

Thanks Cate, noted and will write letters. Mark, the same thing happened except I had a device that left not question that I was being tapped, and they "still" do it once in a while. I let them have it for 5 long years. "WE'RE" paying for all of that. Tens of $millions$ to spy on "us". Support EFF if you think its wrong.

When contacting you Representatives, you may wish to add to the following statement,
Please support the termination, via the "sunset provision," of the so-called FISA Modernization Act. It's unnecessary and a violation of Americans' Fourth Amendment rights.
Contact: Senators of the 110th Congress

You bet I will contact my Congressional representation! I am ready to spit nails. A great job, as usual, Cate. Too bad you don't live in Louisiana--we could get you elected as Governor first, then straight to the White House. I am not sure how much it costs to buy a governorship these days, but I know how much it costs to buy the Presidency. Actually, the expense is a good investment because you get such a good return on it! Like the rest of your life!

If... the machine of government... is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law: Henry David Thoreau, On the Duty of Civil Disobediance, 1849

Noted, and got contact Information. I plan to "do my part," calling my Senators. Love the Thoreau Quote, by the way, Serge. I agree with H. David Thoreau's Philosophy in general regarding Government and Organized Religion. Love it; "On the Duty Of Civil Disobedience." Well spiced into this theme; and a great injection of TRUTH for any Thinker who braves a World of Thought outside the Parameters of those "spoon-fed" us by Blind Guides who are Presently Performing as Leading Officers of the Law.

Thanks Cate. Quoting from another article, "Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, angrily chastised his colleagues for bending to the administration's will." I love my senator!

so they say. have you seen them do to much lately? gov. has visited the clergy during large meeting in washington to tell them to relate to their congregations to give in to the new world order. some did not want to and is why we even know of this ploy. the service men and woman are asked if they had to would they come home to take their own people out? marshal law is waiting for anyone who does not give into what is already set in motion. spy? they have been. just looking for legal ways to expose and ""use" what they can. i see many here using the lord' name. well he says in the bible to stand. do not take the mark of the beast which many have yet to hear just what that consist of, many have yet to become aware.
