Dutch espionage agents, in the process of infiltrating the Iranian weapons organizations in a top secret operation, have been recalled by their government because of its belief that the US is planning an attack.

Is this perhaps the "national emergency" that could indefinitely postpone the coming US election? See Chris's story.
Also, a couple of related links: Dutch intel: US to strike Iran in coming weeks & Iran Warns Any Attack Would Start World War. I really, really hope this is bullsh*t.

We can only hope that the Dutch have their wires crossed, or are cooperating with the US in putting out this story for an unrevealed purpose.

For one thing TOP SECRET spy missions are never discussed especially operations of this caliber. Divulging information like this would put all of these spy's life's at risk, compromise intelligence gathering methods and cause severe embarrassment to the government doing the spying. If Iran had any knowledge that a mission such as this was or even HAD been going on they would be in front of the LAUGHING NATIONS {UN} screaming for the entire world to hear. The fact that they are not SCREAMING AND YELLING proves that this is nothing more then a joke.

There's no honorable way to kill, no gentle way to destroy. There is nothing good in war. Except its ending,I don't believe that the big men, the politicians and the capitalists alone are guilty of the war. Oh, no, the little man is just as keen, otherwise the people of the world would have risen in revolt long ago! There is an urge and rage in people to destroy, to kill, to murder, and until all mankind, without exception, undergoes a great change, wars will be waged, everything that has been built up, cultivated and grown, will be destroyed and disfigured, after which mankind will have to begin all over again.”

Thanks Cate, very important info. The article states that the reporter "is known for his good contacts in the intelligence world." And it also states that the paper is a respected one. But beyond all that, and whether this particular aspect of this issue is true or not, there is plenty of proof that this is, or was, on the agenda. Here are some related sites and petitions...

This is just insane enough to be a bush trick right down to having that "report" on what Biden is suppose to have said. What crap. If he thinks he can dirty Bidens name he may go way too far. This man is respected and not pro war. He has proven this again and again and bush wouldn't listen to him. There are records to back this up. But it wouldn't surprise me one bit if that little sob in the white house didnt stir the pot and try to boil obama before the election. After all, everyone knows that the republicans are the war mongers so vote them into office to handle this "emergency" and paint Iran in such a bad light that any chance of talking to them would piss of all americans///further damaging obama's chances to get elected. Who better to handle war...McIdiot that's who. I wonder what kind of deals are going on behind closed doors. This is the scariest thought I could imagine. We can't win any war in Iran and it would probably bring the war to this country as they aren't very forgiving people when it comes to americans. God help us all cause it appears bush will do what ever he can to get a republican in office. War make the rich richer

Nevaeh and Mary's comments strike a chord with my thoughts; that there is no honor in war, it is for the benefit of sociopaths and the 'righteous' only. The sociopaths preying on the 'righteous' by instilling fear of others. Just look at the amount of anti-Muslim news in the media and one can see the fear being spread.
Question is, do we, you and me continue to allow the fear-mongering?
Counter education is the only way forward. Citizens from all walks of life must unify to bring awareness, respect and tolerance to one another. This applies on both sides. There are many anti-Anglo/American (Black, White, Hispanic...)/etc. proponents in the world who need to be opposed.
Through our unity, we CAN over-ride the seeds of hate.
Co-Exist, live and let live are more than catchy phrases...

You know there really is still a chance for peace and that chance will definitely increase if we each do our piece. So let’s make peace -- in our homes, in our own hearts, in our relationships, in our communities, in all of our dealings and in the world. Peace be with us all.

There is no doubt in my mind or that of Senators NOBAMA or McSAME or even the EU that Iran has to be dealt with. It's simply a matter of when the "DIPLOMATIC FAILURES of the LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WORLD "THE UN" is finally deemed to be what they are a, complete and utter FIASCO as to when ACTIONS are taken. With the UN security council issuing RESOLUTION after RESOLUTION form one side of their mouths and handing Iran money and TECHNOLOGY from the other side, the time frame that the WEST has predicted they will have a NUCLEAR BOMB grows shorter and shorter.
Israel who stands to lose the most out of all of us is not going to sit around much longer while the UN continues its 3 RING PONY SHOW. Israel has shown in the past that it will not allow their NATIONAL SECURITY to be impinged upon and since the United States is their biggest Allie with or with out our permission WILL TAKE ACTION SOON. Does that mean that we as Americans will be part of it NO. We of course will know prior to it happening when it will occur. For NATIONAL SECURITY REASONS Israel will only notify us if we are lucky with about a 24 hr notice, or it could be shorter but know we will. Will we even try to stop it NO let me repeat myself HELL NO! It will happen. The US is not going to start any military action in IRAN but we will come to the AID of ISRAEL after the attack to insure that Israel is not attacked by other foreign governments in reprisal attacks. It will be between Israel and Iran and nobody else as far as we are concerned.
Don't put it passed some BOHUNK reporter trying to make a name for his self to invent a story from a man "known for his good contacts in the intelligence world". Like i said if even a fraction of this were true then the DUTCH government would be turning its intelligence agency UPSIDE down looking for this AGENT who SUPPOSEDLY revealed this information to take him out in the BACK YARD AND SHOOT HIM for compromising its entire intelligence OPERATION IN IRAN and putting every agent that they have in danger of being REALLY TORTURED "NOT WATERBOARDING" and murdered by the IRANIANS. Remember SPIES although EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD HAS THEM are dealt with extremely harshly "WHICH IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT" when they are caught, and if this was even partially true then the DUTCH would be evacuating every single Dutch Citizen from Iran because Iran would be justified in ARRESTING EVERY SINGLE DUTCH CITIZEN UNDER SUSPICION OF BEING A SPY AND DEALING WITH EVERYONE OF THEM AS SUCH. Remember what i said about how SUSPECTED Spies are treated.

Good comments everyone. On one thing we can agree: war is hell and no one wins in the end.

Rumors are floating wildly, but there are strong indications there will be an imminent attack on Iran, Russia, China and India. Consider that Russia and China are allies of Iran, so an attack on Iran will bring the other countries to its rescue. It stands to reason, the US would go after the allies as well at the same time.

Whether we believe the US or any of these countries would win in a war is irrelevant. The major players - US, Russia and China - all have enough nukes to blast this world into outer space. And for those who think our leaders are too rational to put their own countries at risk, are simply not watching as events have been unfolding for the last 8 years.

Since March, Russia has been strategically moving war machines into place, as the US has intentionally moved aircraft carriers and destroyers into areas that threaten Russia, Iran, China and others. None of these countries is anxious to go to war with the US or anyone else, for that matter. But when the bully continually throws sand in your eyes, what would you do?

BushCo is like a cornered animal, which makes him extremely dangerous. The US economically is sinking rapidly and most Americans are fed up with his failed policies, wars and destruction. The powers that rule BushCo have demanded he complete his mission. Polls show Obama is in the lead. Obama would end the destructive policies of BushCo. The neocons cannot let that happen. They have worked decades to rape this nation in order to fund their project to dominate the globe. They could do it only with the ignorance of the sheep, and the skillful corruption and tampering with our constitution and bill of rights. Because we lie to ourselves, they have been able to lie to us.

Americans have such short vision. Because we have food on the table today, we cannot believe there may be none tomorrow. Because our health is good today, we fail to understand that years of neglect can bring on a debilitating disease. Because war happens "over there," we cannot see how easily it could happen here. Because our leaders lie and murder millions "over there," we fail to see how they could just as easily lie to us and eat their own for dinner.

There are few countries in the world who are innocent of corruption and wrongdoing. However, the US stands out as one of the biggest con artists and corrupt, murderous nations the world has ever known. We have done well to hide it from Americans. But the jig is up and the world is beginning to inform Americans that we stand naked before the world with our lies, corruption, arrogance, ignorance, immorality and hypocrisy. We label ourselves Christians, but are for the most part anything but that. If Americans themselves weren't this way, BushCo would never have succeeded this far with his corrupt agenda.

When you have sold your soul to the devil, life and the facade of protecting it is no longer required. BushCo will do what they need to do to fulfill their agenda and protect themselves...and themselves only. Because of our apathy in neglecting to stop these madmen, and the weaknesses of our souls, our very lives and the safety of this planet are hanging by a thin string.

One final note: there is no need to panic or worry. The stone has been set. Nothing at all may happen. Therefore, worry is unnecessary. However, if the worst occurs, there is still no need to panic or worry. If we have lived a life of caring and sharing, we have fulfilled what is required of us. Those who have not, will get caught up in the chaos and possible destruction.

Forgot to say...Israel and the US are synonymous. Israel will do nothing without the backing of the US. They are a tiny country and would get squashed. If there are attacks, the US will initiate it.

Having been a military wife, I don't scare easily. If something of this magnitude were being planned, it would not be leaked because it would put the lives of the spies in jepardy. It would be done and then we'd know. I don't trust Bush, however. War is NOT the answer. Why can't we just give PEACE a chance? (John Lennon)

My son is also in the military so another reason I don't scare easily. I would have been scared if I lived in New Orleans and Gustave was headed at us. That would have had me hi-tailing it north to a safer location and as fast as I could go and I'd have been leading the evacuations, thank you.

But I do think this is just another RepubliCON scare tactic.
I also think Mc$ame's VP pick is a lie. I think that HE believes Once Elected he could get her to step down & he could get Lieberman in. He has that "Bu$h did whatever he wanted, so can I" attitude.. wonder if the Reich-wing has figured that out yet?

Featured News: UN Reports that US-Led Airstrike Killed Dozens of Children
United Nations officials last week said that there was "convincing evidence" at least 90 civilians - two-thirds of them children - were killed in a U.S.-led airstrike in Afghanistan. The attack caused the Afghan government to call for a review of U.S. and NATO military operations in the country. Kai Eide, the top U.N. official in Afghanistan, called the incident a "matter of grave concern to the United Nations" and said he had "repeatedly made clear that the safety and welfare of civilians must be considered above all else during the planning and conduct of all military operations." U.S. forces in Afghanistan have increased their reliance on air power since last year, causing a corresponding increase in civilian deaths. The attack appears to have caused the largest civilian loss of life attributed to U.S. forces since the war began in late 2001.

This is true and terrible but how does Bush call this collateral dammage?????

Kevin Carty (10)
Thursday September 4, 2008, 7:30 am
Hans it is strange that the NEW YORK TIMES liberal media of the RIGHT coast ran an article yesterday, in which the actual civilian deaths in that raid were only 5-7.
Since even the most LIBERAL Democrats in Washington believe that Afghanistan is truly the only place that we should be FIGHTING A WAR since there is no OIL there to fight over and we are their solely for the purpose of eliminating Al Qaeda it is a war zone. Since it is APPARENT that you have never been in a WAR ZONE and have not a clue, then i shall explain it to you. In WAR PEOPLE DIE. In war zones bullets, bombs and missiles NEVER have INDIVIDUAL NAMES ON THEM. Is it TRAGIC that innocents die, yes it is, if they didn't it wouldn't be called a war it would then be called a DIPLOMATIC MISSION. When the enemy that you are fighting doesn't where uniforms, uses women and children as suicide bombers and hides and surrounds themselves amongst the civilian population then civilians will die. These civilians know who are the combatants and who's not and in most cases are assisting them. They have the opportunity to extricate themselves from the combatants when they don't they automatically PUT THEMSELVES IN THE LINE OF FIRE.
Thinking back to past wars when the enemy was in uniform CIVILIAN POPULATIONS and population centers were directly targeted to maximize the fear and terror. Those days as far as the UNITED STATES is concerned are long over. Countries such as Russia in Chechnya bombed indiscriminately killing thousand of civilians as do most terrorists. That we killed as few civilians as we have in both Afghanistan and Iraq should be commended but then LIBERALS never see it that way.
The only people responsible for civilian casaulitys is Al Qaeda and or the Taliban and no one else. The United States has tried purposefully not to kill any of them.
Lest you forget Hans "Casualties
By the end of the war 205,900 Dutch men and women had died. The Netherlands had the highest per capita death rate of all Nazi-occupied countries in Western Europe, 2.36%.[3] Another 30,000 died in the Dutch East Indies, either while fighting the Japanese or in camps as Japanese POWs. Dutch civilians were held in those camps as well.[4]

Think about awhile before you bash BUSH for killing SO MANY CIVILAINS because if they weren't using the CIVILIANS as SHIELDS and MEDIA PROPOGANDA almost no civilians would be killed, I'm sorry they are such cowards but don't blame it on US.

Kevin, let's take off the rose colored glasses. Unfortunately, Hans is correct. After reading many of Hans' posts, I think he has a clearer world view of political events and does not receive propaganda from US news outlets only telling the world what BushCo wants us all to know.

Recent US aerial raids and attacks over civilian populations have killed a number of innocent victims. I recently viewed a video on FSTV where an entire family except for a 10 year old boy (age?) was wiped out in Afghanistan. Hamid Karzai the president, who I have little respect for because he sold out his country, stated he wants no more US aerial assaults in his country. Not only did the US indiscriminately bomb a civilian village and kill innocent victims, but the boy saw his mother's head blown up before him in the surprise attack, and see other family members blown up as well. He is the only survivor in the immediate family and now lives with his uncle. Karzai said this boy now hates the US and will probably grow to be a freedom fighter for the cause. BushCo has created millions of little boys and young men like this throughout the middle east and other countries.

This is only one story. There are countless more. I don't know what world you live in, but the horrendous videos, pictures and stories from victims, journalists, reporters and eyewitnesses say the US is responsible for some of the worst war crimes due to irresponsibility, negligence and outright abuse against victims.

Yes, Russia and other countries have done the same. But we're not talking about these countries and their past war crimes. We're talking about the US which is actively creating these war situations and crimes right now. This is why the Geneva Conventions created international laws to prevent such crimes. Our own military has laws of which many have been ignored as well.

Shall I remind you about Abu Ghraib?

In all wars, the enemy is the enemy. The attacker is trained to hate the enemy. The attacker tries to protect himself while eliminating the enemy. I would expect many of the rules of engagement to be thrown out of the window during a real battle. But there are some ground rules which the US has ignored from time to time. One being to avoid civilian areas.

But we're talking about illegal wars and occupations for all the wrong reasons. BushCo is about as innocent as a porcupine in a nudist colony.

- 9/11 was an inside job to gain the support of Americans to support his war agenda
- Al Qaeda had been trained by the US and worked with the government to instigate the lie
- Rather than pursue bin Laden in Afghanistan, BushCo went after Saddam, assassinated the leader, killed over a million innocent Iraqis, maimed millions more, displaced over 4 million, trashed the country, stole their resources and gold, installed permanent military installations -- all for the true agenda of getting their oil and having a strategic location to attack Iran and control the flow of oil.
- bin Laden will never be found because it was an arranged lie. Every time a new bin Laden video comes out, it's a distraction from something BushCo wants to hide from Americans.
- The US' continued instigation of occupation and wars in the middle east is nothing more than causing chaos in the region for their benefit.
- Americans suffer because they are paying for illegal wars, more wars until our country is now bankrupt.

BushCo played upon the ignorance, arrogance, greed, violent nature, immorality, hypocrisy and fears of Americans and their racist views of dark skinned people around the world to rape our country to fund his personal agenda of global domination and control of world resources.

Most of us who want the truth and seek peace know what BushCo is: a corrupt group of murderous, monstrous neocons who would sell their mothers if that's what it took to achieve their goals. As for the American citizens who support BushCo and their corruption, I believe they are just as guilty as BushCo.

Unbeknown to most Americans is that we have already waged war against Iran. An instigated aggression of war against a country who is guilty only of having oil resources that BushCo wants, and has decided to stop using $USD and go their merry way, just as Venezuela and Iraq did, and other countries are beginning to do. It is their right to do so. After all, the $USD has less value than their dollar, and they are losing with our monetary standard.

An aggressive, illegal, trumped up act of war! Just like Viet Nam, Japan and most every war the US has engaged in. Create the justification, get the support of the people, and do what you will and take what you want. It's how America was founded, how it used slaves to build it and how it continues to use taxpayers as modern day slaves to finance their agendas to rape the world. It's what we do best. Lie, cheat and steal. And that's not my perspective because I know the good of Americans. It is the actions of our leaders who have done these acts in our name. And this is the perception of America around the world.

And we just recently did it again in Georgia. McCain sent his people to Georgia immediately before Georgia attacked South Ossetia. US and Israeli troops were there at the time in Georgia. Georgia deliberately attacked and killed civilians, yet, Americans were told Russia attacked Ossetia first! Had it not been for credible witnesses and the internet, we would never know the truth. This is an old story and the world is getting tired of American lies, corruption, murders and manipulations.

The world does not revolve around America. Conservative Americans seem to believe this. Neither does America revolve around the world. We are all one on this planet and no different or more deserving than the next. Americans believe we are smarter, richer, better. News Flash: our education system is severely lacking compared to other nations, we are bankrupt and we have a long, long way to being better than others.

If you ever tune in to international news when Bush is around the world, you see hatred and chaos. When Obama took his international trip he was greeted by millions of people. Not in disagreement with the US but with greetings and welcoming. I can bet you that when McCain goes abroad he will be welcomed with the same hatred as Bush gets when he is abroad. The United States of America cannot afford this any longer and cannot think that they will be the leading country in the world without depending on the developing countries around them. Rather than make us safer, Bush has put America at high risk. McCain will do the same and more.

Final note: I love my country dearly, I am a vet and believe in defending this country, I support our troops and I am very, very proud of them as a whole. But I believe war is the absolute LAST solution when all avenues have been explored. The life of a little boy in Afghanistan is just as precious as Bush's sorry life, and must be respected and protected.

It is the arrogance of Americans to think we can continue to bully and rape the world. BushCo has ruined our economy and we are sinking fast. All we have left are big guns and big mouths. The world is leaving us behind. They have tolerated us long enough. But these other countries have big guns too. Regardless of how big our guns are, in the end we will all lose in a world war.

"If the citizens neglect their Duty and place unprincipled men in office, the government will soon be corrupted; laws will be made, not for the public good so much as for selfish or local purposes; corrupt or incompetent men will be appointed to execute the Laws; the public revenues will be squandered on unworthy men; and the rights of the citizen will be violated or disregarded." ~Noah Webster - (1758-1843) American patriot and scholar

"We should never forget that everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was "legal" and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was "illegal." ~Martin Luther King, Jr.

Forgot to mention...

The republican party is no longer the party it used to be. Today, the republican party is anti-American, anti-patriotic, anti-humane, anti-life. There was a time when I could identify with some of this party's platform. No longer. This party today is as un-American as we can get. A disgrace and shame to this country.

Marion, the following had to have come from a Republican election commercial about Liberals "anti-American, anti-patriotic, anti-humane, anti-life" We have been SCREAMING the last 7 years about how LIBERALS are anti-American, anti-patriotic, anti-humane, anti-life. How in the hell can you say that Republicans are ANTI-LIFE when its the LIBERALS who are scared to DEATH of McCAIN and PALIN getting into office and overturning Roe v WADE. Liberals would love it if they showed PICTURES of murdered babies after they have been SCRAPPED out of there EGG DONORS BODIES thrown on the floor in a plastic bag and then get pissed off because that REPUBLICANS wont let you use the REFUSE for STEM CELL RESEARCH.
You most have REPUBLICANS RIOTING outside your local MARINE CORPS RECRUITING OFFICE absolutely determined to close them down because they hate BABY KILLERS and don't want them in your neighborhood. the republicans that you know of must not wear their FLAG LAPEL PINS and don't put their hands over their hearts for the NATIONAL ANTHEM. Yea those damn REPUBLICANS are so ANTI-HUMAN there allowing school districts to give BIRTH CONTROL MEDICATION and actually taking them to family planning clinics to have ABORTIONS WITHOUT THE PARENTS KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT.
You must have read somewhere everything that you wrote but what you forgot to mention was that it was written about DEMOCRATS and has been for years.
As to the book that you wrote, that you must have have copied and pasted from KEITH OLBERMANS website for the LIBERAL INSANE. Its not even worth going over point for point because its just the SAME OLD RHETORIC that just keeps going around and around it must make you LIBERALS feel good to keep REGURGITATING that nonsense.

I agree with Marion Y. The republican party is no longer the party it used to be. It used to be the conservative party that balanced its budget. Now it is the spend everything we can on a war we shouldn't be fighting so the oil barons get get richer party. It is the party where those who can afford the $1000 a plate dinners can be called George's base.

Yes, there have been hints for months that there won't be an election this year. And it will be the republicans doing it. Hitler invaded Poland and Bush will invade Iran.

Dear, naive are so lost and clueless. First, I am a former college instructor. I write my own material. I'm not the best, but I hold my own in writing. Anytime I use someone else's material, I use quotes " ". If the claims against republicans sounds like what they have used against democrats, it's because their most scandalous ploy is to accuse democrats of exactly what the republicans are guilty of. They are notorious for criticizing democrats, then later stealing their material and claiming it as their own.

Anyone can wear a flag pin and cite the national anthem. But not everyone who does really believes in this country or supports it. Kind of like those who go to church on Sundays and say "God Bless" to everyone. Many of these people are hypocrites and live a life anything but that of Christ. Actions speak volumes to flags, pins and words. Anyone who believes in Christianity and has even partially read the bible would not be in support of these wars and BushCo.

No, you wouldn't read everything I wrote, would you? This is the problem with Americans and why they are so ignorant. They don't have time for details. They also don't want to learn the truth. This is why our nation is below many other nations in education and intelligence.

Arrogant and ignorant.

In all that you wrote, you never addressed the illegal wars and corruption of the neocons. Like your party, you change the subject and accuse, never addressing the issues in front of you. What you should do is address the issues when someone comments, back it up with credible references, then add further issues if you must. But to get angry, avoid the issues and not read the comments tells me you are lost and clueless.

Corruption, thieves and murderers.

Another thing: Your war hero McCain has not been honest with you. It appears he has been covering up the fact that he is traitor instead. Gosh, what it is about the republicans? They do poorly in school, hide behind the bible, believe they are superior than everyone else, lie continuously, cheat to win and have very bad tempers. Here's something to chew on:

Fellow POW’s say John McCain Was a Coward and a Traitor in Viet Nam

The Republican Party is scandalous and a fraud. You've been raped, Kevin...and you don't even realize it.

Way to go Marion *greenstars* Noted with thanks Cate :) It seems that Americans only have two presidential candidates to choose from when they go to vote, and yet they are controlled by the same people. I'm just an outsider looking in, but for now, I'm grateful we have six parties to vote for, or, we can vote for one of the many Independents. Not to forget the minor parties.
