The pororoca is a tidal bore, with waves up to 4 meters high that travel as much as 13 kilometers inland upstream on the Amazon River.

Thanks Ivica interesting post. We are on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and right now we are going through tropical storm Hannah. Can imagine what the waves are like here. Haven't braved it yet to go see.
