For the first time, Round Up Ready (glyphosate tolerant) GM alfalfa has been sold in Ontario for planting this spring. Alfalfa is a perennial plant which is very important in organic agriculture. Pollinated by bees, contamination is evitable.

According to the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network:

"Alfalfa is grown on 22% of cropland in Ontario. Pasture and hay often includes alfalfa. "
" Instead of using chemical fertilizers, farmers use alfalfa to build soil nutrients, to help grow vegetables and grains. Alfalfa is the most important nitrogen-fixing perennial crop. It improves soil quality."
"Alfalfa is integral to the whole organic farming system "

Given that the Rodale Institute has stated that:
1- "we could sequester more than 100% of current annual CO2 emissions with a switch to widely available and inexpensive organic management practices" http://rodaleinstitute.org/regenerative-organic-agriculture-and-climate-change/
2- Alfalfa is a vital component of organic agriculture
3- The World Health Organization has designated glyphosate as a probably carcinogen
4- Alfalfa is pollinated by bees and the seeds can be spread by wildlife, thus contamination is evitable.

Please take the time to tell the Canadian Government we want to sequester carbon and protect our health, not grow GM alfalfa.

Remember, Hillary Clinton JUST LOVES GMOs and MONSANTO - as U.S. Secretary of State HILLARY CLINTON WENT AROUND THE GLOBE PROMOTING GMOs.
THAT is PROBABLY why they are being INTRODUCED IN CANADA - wouldn't be surprising at all if this was SECRETARY OF STATE HILLARY CLINTON'S DIRECT WORK.
Unlike many of her "mistakes" like her Vote on the Iraq War, she has NEVER REPUDIATED HER UNCONDITIONAL ADVOCACY OF GMOs [and the EVIL CAPITALIST CORPORATIONS that produce and Profit from them].

GMOs are NOT AT ALL ABOUT "FEEDING THE WORLD". No, not at ALL.
They are actually INEFFICIENT in that way!
Instead, GMOs are all about HAVING COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE WORLD'S FOOD SUPPLY.

You can SEE what an ADVANTAGE that would be, for a WARLIKE IMPERIALIST NATION like the United States! MASS FAMINE, ENORMOUS STARVATION AS A WEAPON FOR CONQUEST....
So, it is NOT SURPRISING at all, that a U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE goes around the world PUSHING THIS ON RELUCTANT GOVERNMENTS AND PEOPLE.....

I came across a website that is focused on discussing the value of traditional college degrees in the American educational system.
