Senators Sam Brownback (R-Kansas) and Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Protection Act. If it passes, researchers would be forbidden from combining human and animal eggs and sperm, putting animal DNA into a human embryo.
