But after this, Internet users would be well advised to ask another question entirely: Are my "friends" even real people? In the continuing saga of data security firm HBGary, a new caveat has come to light

Well, you know, that could be a possibility right here on Care2. I get a few friend requests that have absolutely no information on their profile. I used to send a message back for more info, but never got results. Also, the spam is unusually large on this site and hyperlinks are everywhere. There are all kinds of spyware and virus that could be lurking. I notice some mention of people having performance issues with their computers. The same has happened to me. Also, it seems hard to believe there are 15 million active members. How many of these are spybots or cyborgs. The biggest friend list I ever saw was 2,000 on this site. Go figure.

Ya how do you keep up with 2000 friends ???? I believe that it was here that my computer picked up whatever it was and crashed it the first time then the two problems after I am not sure where those came from. So much doesn't work right here and you don't get any feedback from Care2 techs. I thought of Care2 when I posted the article....I got an email saying there is one person here who has multiple profiles and sends friends requests to almost every NEW member...thought he was OK until I saw his comments in various articles. I try to be careful who I send or accept requests from. Thanks John :-}
