Starved, She Clung to Life, Tied to A Fence

Animals  (tags: pit bull dogs, sadistically starved, tied to fence, animal abuser, animal cruelty, rescued, recovered, investigation )

When Orange Animal Control Officer Rudy Giordano was contacted to pick up a dog in distress, he found a pathetically helpless starving female pit bull tied to a fence near a vacant lot. It is not known how long she was there ... she could have been starving

How great Vida looks now. I hope she finds the loving home she deserves. The scum of the earth who did this to her needs to be tied to a fence and just left there. Then they would see how it felt to be alone and without any food or water.

Simone, I wrote to the shelter to ask if Vida already has a caring family. I'm waiting for their answer, if she hasn't I will promote her for adoption. She so deserves it after what she has been through.

I received this mail from the humain society where she is being looked after for now :
Viviane, Vida is still with us and if you would like to forward her
story, that would be fine. Several people expressed interest but never
followed through. Vida is a wonderful dog. We took her to visit a school
that sponsored her care and she was very gentle and mellow with the
children. Thank you so much. Debbie Beyfuss AHS Cares Programs

I hope that Vida gets the loving home she deserves. I will foreward story to all my friends.

I really don't understand why some people are so cruel to others. I hope that who ever did this to her will suffer as much as they caused her to suffer.

Thanks Simone. Noted with sadness that she had to suffer like this and happiness that she was rescued and hope that she will find a loving family to care for her.

How could anyone allow a dog, any dog or animal, to become so emaciated is beyond me. The person(s) responsible for allowing Vida to become so thin, starved, should be put behind bars, period.

TY, Viviane & Simone.

I am so glad Vida was found in time. I can never understand how anyone could be so cruel as to let an animal die deliberately. I pray that the persons that did this will never know peace or be able to sleep ever again. God bless you Vilda there must be a home waiting for you. Noted. Thanks Simone.

Thank you so much for the heads up on Vida. People are just beyond sick in their capacity to harm animals. About 8 years ago I got my Rotty under similar circumstances to Vida only she came out of Jersey City. Sadly we had to put our friend to sleep in November, she had aggressive liver cancer. The kindest thing was to say goodbye to her. We have waited for the right moment for another friend. Maybe this is it, I plan to check it out. Thanks again.

So sad! If anyone ever encounters an animal or someone that has an animal that they can't take care of any longer, whatever you do, don't call PETA for help. They euthanize 90% of the animals they take in. They talk about animal rights but are the worst offenders. All they are interested in is the Government funds they collect.

I see a story like that and it makes me ashamed to be part of the human race and could actually do something like that to a poor defenceless creature. I hope she soon'll get the home she so desperately needs and deserves.

This is incredibly NASTY. I work as a shelter volunteer, and hear many of these stories, but really seldom see any as disturbing as this case. The person whom did this should simply be shot - they NEED to be removed from the gene pool so as not to be able to pass-on the traits leading to such evil.

Get rid of them.

Noted! How very sad to do this to ANY animal! (And, remarkable that she can still remain loving to human beings after being so tortured) Humans could LEARN a great deal from ANIMALS! I hope they hang the person that did this but-starve them first!!! I am not in a position to adopt right now or would take her in a minute. I will pass it along, though. And, hope with EVERYTHING that she gets the home she so deserves.

I would take Vida in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, the place I live in only allows smaller dogs. I have to move soon. If I'm able to find a place that allows larger dogs I may be able to accomodate one. I'm betting Vida will have a good home by then. To me this is totally believable only because I have seen basically the same story so many times involving so many animals. I really doubt that animal abuse is every going to be entirely wiped out. We are going to hear about these cases over and over and over again. It can be significantly reduced if we get tougher laws passed. That's going to take many people who care enough to demand tougher laws from our legislatures. Please! Do it people! It does little good for us to lament these unspeakable horrors if we do not join the fight to end them.

Sending out my prayers for this baby. I will send out a forward and see if we can get the info out more.
Yhis just rips me up that this sweet baby was left forgotten. How can people do this? I'm sorry but I am beginning to not like people I have to deal with on a daily basis anymore. You would think living in alaska that there would be an affinity for wildlife and any and all animals, but believe it or not there are alot of carelss callous people that would pass a stranded animal rather than offer a gentle hand or voice let alone render aid and comfort. Every animal abuse case just tears me up anymore. This should never happen no matter what...ever.

I pray that Vida finds a wonderful home, I believe that she will. I also pray for justice for the creep or creeps who did this to her. They should be tied to a prison cell for the rest of their lives as far as I'm concerned. If the people that do this to others, and then are allowed freedom, they will do it again and again. This is so wrong and the laws need to protect all life now!

The first photo, I'm crying. Some days it's like that. I want to help and we have to be strong. We're the ones who don't look the other way and some days are so sad I'm not effective to help. I am so thankful she was found and very much appreciate seeing her "after" photo. Thanks everyone.

It looks to me like she is in Newark, N.J. Didn't know they had an orange county but maybe she was sent there from somewhere else. Surely, there is someone on Care 2 that could give her a home. I bet she would be a great dog and she has really blossomed. I think she is very pretty!
