Town officials have ordered a man to get rid of his 300-pound pet pig, but the owner says he'd rather leave town than give up the animal. Rob Falk of Southwest Ranches has a Yorkshire pig named Strawberry, and council members cited Falk's landlord for

GOOD! Mr Falk sees through the specieist policies and hypocrisy that *only* dogs and cats are welcome, and everything else should be eaten or exterminated. People need to get their heads out of their asses and stop claiming they "like animals" and then play games like this. Here's another similar battle:

This animal was penalized simply because he was a bird, and not only that, an "eatable bird." For that, he and his human friend weren't welcome to live where they choose to and were harassed. Unbelievable.

With all the crap that's going on in the world, and this Councillors waste their time and money on someone taking good care of their pet.

it said they allow one pig per household. why wouldn't they tell us how many he has? often, you can apply for a kennel license in order to keep multiple animals.

Ditto everyone here! Pigs are intelligent, friendly animals, and deserve a friend like Rob Falk. And when he moves, he can thumb his nose at everyone else in that town!

The thing that struck me when reading this story was that the town council says that the law only allows a person to keep " one Vietnamese pot bellied pig per household".Why on earth make a distinction of one pig over another ?.

The same reason as "dogs and cats" are welcome, but other creatures aren't: specieism.

now i get it. why not just tell them it's a vietnamese pot bellied pig and let them spend their money on dna testing to prove otherwise.

These people need to mind their own buisness and quit nosing into everyone elses buisness. It is getting so rediculous that you can't do anything without neighbors wanting to tell you what you can do on your own property.

I'm glad our neighbors (in both FL and GA) have always liked Callaloo and never complained about a duck living with us and in the house...because you know...there are places that complained about neighbors who had a companion bird who happened to be a rooster...so my neighbors going by calling out "Hi, Aflac!" to us is fine with me.
