When those who want to reopen the ivory trade start growing ivory out of their own faces, then they'll have the liberty to whack it off their own face to sell it. Until then, the ivory trade should remain closed.

Save elephants

@0 years is nothing for elephants to regain safe numbers and the slaughter is unnecessary:
It's the ivory, not the meat they want

What a mess. If they aren't poached, the elephants soon grow large enough in number that the local governments send hunters in to cull them. Seriously. It seems that too many elephants equals more desert, as they use up their habitat much the way people do. So it seems that nothing good ever happens in Africa and I'm afraid this is more of the same. From my reading, no easy solution. I was shocked when I first heard of the cullings, but I assure you, it happens.

It's all about making money with no consideration for the livs of the elephants or the money that the tourist trade brings to their country to see these wonderful beasts. God will punish them for this.

Oh Hell No These Elephants have suffered long enough leave them alone and let them all live in peace with thier families , God created thier tusk for them to survive and for thier beauty ..NOT FOR US HUMANS ...WHAT THE HELL DO WE NEED IT FOR? WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF US HAVING THEIR IVORY... If thier tusk is used for us to wash our bodies or for other use ..I am very well quite sure we can find some other NOT-CRUEL -TO -ANIMALS METHODS. Leave these precious elephants alone and let them be free from all harms

How deep can we humans fall.
The human race is considering animals and the entire planet as "property" for way too long...ready to kill and for exploitation.
When is the human race starting to embrace true respect, kindness and dignity towards ALL lives????
We call ourselves "thinking" persons who have the capacity to reason...to have emotions...SO WHEN ARE WE START TO DO SO??
This is insanity to re-open the trade in ivory!

This is so bad. Is it the Chinese who're behind it??? One would have to wonder as they're the only ones who're stupid enough to think this is herbal medicine.

Not good. :(
