The Environmental Protection Agency is spearheading a new approach to evaluating chemicals that could end the use of animals and we applaud them. Yet EPA still requires vast amounts of animal testing for pesticides, water pollutants, and other substances

There is no need for this to happen to animals there are far better tests out there and every day more and more ethical ways are being found, the governments of the world should be leading the way forward not holding on to the out dated cruel practices of the past.

I am SO DISGUSTED with all these HORRIBLE unnecessary testings, DO THE RESEARCH...there are NO LAWS on the books forcing companies to test on animals, they prefer the alternative "chip" method... SIGNED and sent on >>>

NOTED & SIGNED!! This is the 21st century - we now have available human-genome-based advanced computer modeling e.g. bioinformatics. By comparison, animal "tested" research/drugs, of which over 90% fail human drug trials, and most of the remainder that 'pass' are found later to have counterproductive and harmful longterm side effects, are deadly to animals and humans alike.

Thanks Simone, wrote off comment and I hope this will be the beginning of the end of animal testing in any form, for any reason, whatsoever! No one life is worth more than another. I agree with Stuart O...if something absolutely must be tested, use it on convicted rapists and paedophiles....HA!

Signed. Noted. And I agree 100% with Alice. Look at all the animals that die...and then the FDA passes it and it kills humans too? What is the point with testing on innocent animals. Burns me up! Thank you Simone.

Ironic that they're called the Environmental PROTECTION Agency considering they kill the very beings that live in the environment. How about this...If you wouldn't drink it yourself...don't make it. How's that for saving millions in the budget?

INFORMATION / TALKING POINTS

The Environmental Protection Agency is spearheading a new approach to evaluating chemicals that could end the use of animals and we applaud them. Yet EPA still requires vast amounts of animal testing for pesticides, water pollutants, and other substances.

Common types of EPA-required tests include widely condemned “lethal dose” methods, and other force-feeding or inhalation tests developed decades ago. So while science has progressed in every other discipline, animals are still being poisoned to assess the risks of chemicals.

Signed, thanks. I think one of the major problems with animal testing is, the people who have power to stop it, the civilians are too ignorant to what happens. however, they prefer to stay that way. Last year i gave an oral presentation to my Studies of Religion class on the topic of animal vivisection. Just about all of them squirmed around in their seats saying "awww, but the puppies." unfortunately, sympathy doesnt get too far. action does.

We have to stop this insane use of animals for testing and experimenting on. Even the NIH admits that testing is unnecceaary in most cases.

Rod Gesner (60)
Wednesday March 10, 2010, 11:55 am
While I Agree That Most Testing is Un needed; And Intruth Many Products That Are Tested Are Also UN NEEDED;
The Raging Push By Industry For Overconsumtion and Production For Profits With No Regard to the Consequences; Is Threatening Billions of Animals; But Without Some Standards for testing thses Products It Would Only Get Worse and Cause More Deaths and Torture Not Just to animals But Innocent People As well..
And Targeting Rapist and Pedofiles;
Is Just Sick Revenge Persecution;
Of People That Were Most Often traumatised and Tortured In Thier Childhood..

If Any of You Animal Rights Acivists,
Wants to Save an Animal From Such Abuse;
Why Don't You OFFER Yourself Up as a Test Subject?
As far as Testing an Appropriatly Karmiclly Linked Group;
Why Don't the Corp Execs and Stock holder step up
and Personally Submit to all the Testing
They are the ones That Profit;
They should Be the First to Take the Risks They want to Expose us To...

Of Course the Immediate Result of That Law, Would Be They Would Reduce Producing and Experimenting in Obviously DANGEROUS Products.

The Secondary Result would be fast Tracking Research and Production;
of All Alternatives to Human/Animal Testing

Rod Gesner (60)
Wednesday March 10, 2010, 12:09 pm

OH, and By the Way Untill they Require Stock Holders and Execs to Submit to Testing;
I have No Problem With Testing Volunteers or Paid recruited Persons; Even Offering Reduced Sentances; For Less dangerous Prisoners; or Greater access to Music, Books, Better Food, For Those WHo Are Not EVER to Be released..

And yes,
Untill We Reprioritise Away From REVENGE Punishment of Our Fellow Man; And Shift Towards Investing in and Researching true Rehabilitation; We Will Have Prisoners That should Never Be Released;
That Doesn't Mean We have ANY RIGHT TO TORTURE THEM;
By Doing the Same Thing To Them;
That You ARE ALL SO UP IN ARMS ABOUT DOING TO ANIMALS...
WHAT RANK Hipocrissy....

I agree with Deb A. and I signed and sent an online letter just like she did. And all my friends know where I live! My secret as well although if someone is serious about wanting to sign then contact me in my Inbox.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I agree with more people than Deb A. as I believe Rapists and Peadophiles ought to be used as well, at least we're rid of those " Animals" Use the 2 legged ones before the 4 legged ones.

I believe you can always find a way to sign IF you want to do it badly enough!!!!!!!

There should be no animal testing period, never mind "animal testing requirements" there's no need test on defenceless animals. If testing needs to be done then the testers should should test on themselves then they'd find out how the chemicals work.
