ACTION ALERT: Tell the U.S. Census to Stop Promoting the Iditarod Race !!

Dear friends, KTVA-TV in Alaska recently reported that - unbelievably - the U.S. Census Bureau is sponsoring a musher in the 2010 Iditarod. Please tell the Census director, Robert Groves, that tax dollars should not be used to sponsor a musher in this

it's a long enduring race, and those dogs do get hurt, and THEY DON"T HAVE A CHOICE... they go about 1,000 miles, averaging 12 days, 16 dogs per sled, total about 1,000 dogs... Poor Pups :(

I'm not sure that a Government agency is allowed to directly promote anything , but it doesn't prevent contractors they use to do so... maybe that's where the connection is...

It is all done for money. I dont understand how anyone can find this event interesting. Animals were not put here for us to watch them work. I would love to see an end to this barbaric race. Thank you Simone.
