As human beings & animal advocates we must, make a law for the controlling of cats & dogs for their own protection. Here in Montana, we have passed a law, for the breeding of the domesticated ferret. A person needs a special license to breed ferrets &

Personally I like to see all breeding of cats and dogs banned. I worked as a Veterinary Assistant years ago, and holding on to those that people didnt want I will never forget it. It still haunts me. There are thousands of homeless animals needing homes, to keep breeding them is heartbreaking and cruel.

I absolutely agree Simone....and I would have given you lots of green stars today if I could have! Mandatory spay/neuter is one of my hot buttons with monitored and licensed breeding following closely behind.... People just have no sense of responsibility towards other living creatures. So many people live in this bubble or vacuum and think that they are their own little masters of their universe. If they want to play at being gods they need to accept the responsibility. And if they don't, they should pay dearly, with fines.... that is really the only way to get the attention of alot of people, hit them where their heart is...their wallet!

# 83 I think. This is something I feel so strongly about that I could "hold forth" about it too long. Something has to be done about the issue, and while I don't have all the answers as to how to enforce stopping backyard breeders or private owners from bringing more potential suffering animals into the world, a special and expensive license required is a start. This is one of the solutions I have wondered why has not been enforced. Possibly because our legislators just do not find the masses of homeless animals being "euthanized" to be a priority. Thanks Simone.

I agree something has to be done, the us alone spends millions of $ to put these unwanted animals down every year, and were paying for it with tax money. We should have a say in the matter. I say make it a law for all pet owners must have there pets spay r neuter. And monitoring breeders is a must. If there legit Breeders then they should'nt have a promblem with this. All this useless killings needs to stop.

Yes, it will probably work if you ban indivisuals from doing it, but I think more cities should do what my city is doing right now: catching stray cats and dogs, spaying them and then letting go of them. They usually let them go back to their usual lives because no body wants to adopt them :(, but what matters the most is that they go back to their normal lives but dont have an endless number of babies.

This is a wonderful idea. I would love to see breeding restricted. It would save lives and give the government a way to charge for licsense's.
