With so many horrific stories about Pit Bulls, it's always nice when a good story comes about. On October 24, Darryl Steen was awoken at about 1:30 am by his 1 year old Pit Bull barking. "She almost never barks, so I knew something was wrong," said

Poor dog! I hope she is getting a Hero discount of her medical bills, This should be publicized in their hometown also, My town often raises funds to help families & their pets after a tragedy or crisis.

That wonderful, beautiful creature. I HATE that pitbulls get such a bad rap when they are really very loyal, loving and intelligent animals. This family has their sweet pooch to thank for their lives, and she risked her own to save them. I hope everything works out for her and this family, and lots of donations are made to not only cover her vet bills, but to help get the family back on their feet again too. Thanks for sharing this, Simone. I've gladly noted it.

Pit bulls are a tough sell. In my shelter, even if a dog is a pit mix, people are cautious.
