Our feral friends have become fairly skilled at finding shelter and food, but you can help make things easier for them by providing insulated shelters and consistent feeding times. Below we will discuss some of the things you can do to help assure

Thank you for the news at site Simone...while where I live we used to have a ton of feral cats and my Dad used to rescue them off the top of the roof of the house where they had their kittens in a vent, sadly the coyotes have gotten to most of them and I rarely see any cats around here at all!

I do believe the coyote comes into my litle rescue's yard at night and sleeps on the porch, see small poop, also I think I have a squirrel around here and that is rare....

So miss the FOXES and Cats that used to roam this area when I was Younger, UGH DEVELOPMENT and people have made this into a MESS....

Move the Cats/creatures back and get rid of the PEOPLE I say!!! UMMM if they were not living here before 1960 MOVE back to where you first lived!

Sorry, Siimone, but that is how I feel, what used to be a large open space filled with nothing has turned into a ton of homes....UGH MANKIND and THEIR OVER DEVELOPMENT to me is a CRYING SHAME!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Excellent article. I didn't realize that straw was preferable to blankets!

Straw is excellent and I also use dry leaves. In the fall I mow and catch most of the neighbor's leaves and bag and store them for use as bedding for the homeless kitties and my chickens.I have 2 kitties that sleep in a separate part of one of my chicken houses

A feral male cat, that I have named Grillo, has lived on my farm since 2000...
It took my other tame barm cats a while to let him eat and sleep in the garage along with them.
All are outside cats that bunk down in my garage and come inside every now and then but like the outside better. Grillo has even ventured inside once in a while..even slept on the couch this past summer.

Posted to Facebook and saved article for future reference so that I'll be able to pass on this information to rescue people or use it myself in the future.
