On Wednesday, GeaPress reported hundreds -- possibly thousands -- of dead and dying birds in Italy. Countless turtle doves were found scattered in the streets, in flower beds and hanging tragically from trees "like Christmas balls" in the town of Faenza.

This is such a tragedy. And I just can't believe any of the excuses coming to us via the media.

This article lists 9 unexplained dieoffs on 4 continents in less than a week. What the bleep is going on? And don't tell me it's a weather baloon.

This is just too sad. It seems to be happening in several countries, and then in the UK there are the crabs which have been found dead in their hundreds. Tragic. I hope the cause is found for the birds soon. I hate this kind of thing... They say the crabs could have died from hypothermia caused by the very cold weather recently, which is also awful - they must have suffered a lot before dying.

What is in our air??? The canaries were used in the mines to warn of gas leaks, I wonder what these dead birds are warning us of.

sure, there have been plenty of reports lately of mass bird deaths. However, how often does this happen? We know of the recent ones only because they are getting so much attention.

Doesn't this seem like something has been released into the air and is being carried along by the jet stream? I know that these mass kills happen sometimes but it seems like more than just a random occurrence.

This is another shocking story about how nature is undergoing unusual strain. I have heard on the news that these incidents are starting to create global panic, and this does show how much people actually care about wildlife and the environment. Hopefully these are all isolated incidents and our global flora and fauna will recover. It makes you stop to think and never take for granted the glories of nature in harmony and abundance.

The eternal strain on our environment is having a severe detrimental impact on our planet and if we don't continue to vigorously oppose the 2-legged crap that share this planet with us, we will never be able to correct the imbalances created already. Hopefully the cause of the global 'sudden deaths' of birds will be established sooner rather than later in an effort to prevent further destruction.
