Animals  (tags: misjustice, dog neglected, starving, abused, saved, rescuer, charged, Animal Welfare )

- 2870 days ago -
I rescued a starved dog whose teeth were grounded down the the gums (not sure if this was for use of a bait dog or not) and who was very neglected. He was found laying in mud in 30 degree weather, no dog house, and no sign of any food or water bowl. I

The doggie can't go back to the horrible former owner and this one should pay for all that he has done to this beautiful animal, neglected and in such a state, just look at the pictures on Fb, this is outrageous. He MUST pay for all his brainless harm.
Signed of course.

Why is it that no good deed ever goes unpunished? I just don't understand it. This is why people are always reluctant to help out because they inevitably end up being painted as the culprits and perpetrators which is just plain stupid. Of course I'm not a big fan of law enforcement (and never have been or will be) since most of them are just arrogant, corrupt, biased bullies with badges. Law enforcement and other people/entities or whomever, in their stupidity and zeal just lash out at the first person they see not realizing often times it's the do gooder they're unleashing their unbridled stupidity upon. Signed of course. Now I'm stepping off my soapbox. Thanks Simone.

Signed and noted. This is outrageous and I feel so ANGRY, as I have been in this situation myself! Once with a starving dog and once with a starving goat! The world has gone totally mad!! It seems that the innocent are always deemed to be the villain! What a farce! This sort of thing is making people reticent to reach out and help. I hope that we can get a petition together to get the owners of this dog prosecuted!!!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noted and signed. Someone who's taking a risk in saving a life should not be persecuted, harassed or criminally prosecuted. The guilty party is the owner, and he should be forced to pay for all medical treatments, and fined for his cruelty!

Something is not right when those who stand up for the innocent get charged with violating the law when in fact it's those who inflict the actual cruelty and pain on the innocent animals or children. All in all it's wrong. God bless you to the angel that rescued this poor dog, May god be with you in all you do, there should be more people like you. I would've done the same thing can't just stand by and do nothing. I pray that the so called owner gets prosecuted.....

I need more info before I sign. What was the situation? Did the person who has been arrested enter someone's private property and take the dog without permission? Were the appropriate authorities called about the dog's situation before this person took things into their own hands? I'm assuming the dog needed saving and the person's intentions were noble, but you still can't go trespassing and taking someone's animal without first trying to follow legal means.

Signed with pleasure.I cannot believe the comment placed by KRISTIN G.You obviously have zero compassion for animals.I would have done exactly the same as this wonderful rescuer. When it comes down to animal abuse you take what ever action is required.KRISEN G lets face it you would have just walked by and ignored the plight of this poor abused dog and chosen not to get involved. You would have left this dog to die.The person who rescued this dog deserves a medal and the jerk who owned and abused this dog must be given a lengthly jail sentence.Actually I would love to have 5 minutes with the cretin and I would ensure this piece of crap animal abuser is fixed permanently!!!

This is so wrong. The law should punish the owner who neglected and abused his dog, not the one who save him. I think they totally miss the concept of having law, isn't it for pretecting the good persons and punishing the bad ones? If the same situation happen to human kid, thing will be different! I think we should even give the one who rescued the dog an award for taking risk to save the dog!

I hate to sound like a cynic, but I can't help but wonder if this is a hoax. There's no name on the petition of the person who is asking for support, the linked Facebook doesn't appear to actually exist. No contact info of any kind. No link to a news story, no link to a police report. Nothing.

Man's cruelty to animals is nothing new. It's easy to hurt a defenseless animal. The owner should be put in jail and God bless the person who came to that poor dog's rescue.
