What is happening in this country? Why are beautiful dogs like Ceci and Myrtle being overbred by greedy profiteers too lazy to work? When these people are done with breeding their 'owned' pets over and over and over, they either turn them out or dump the

Deeply, deeply sad. I hope with all my heart that these dogs, who have never known what it is to be cared for and loved, will be saved and will have a chance to be happy family dogs.

I have never been able to understand why an animal's life is so cheap to people. I wish somebody could answer that one for me.

Shirley H (49)

This is all very sad to me. Of course the dogs don't deserve to die. No animal in a shelter deserves to be there and die there. Spay & Neuter.

The human race is a disgrace the way some treat animals. Like it says greedy nasty LAZY people who don't want to work make the dogs work by having puppies all the time. This sort of disgusting behaviour should be stopped and some sort of law brought in to protect any animal against these evil people.

Really disgusting how cruel people can be against animals. It pains my heart seeing these poor animals sentenced to die! I hate those people! Phew!

Shame indeed. A nation is judged by how it treats its animals.

We will forever be indebted to the animals WE have domesticated. However, until education replaces ignorance, here we will sit.

Wouldn't the world be a great place without people - we rape and pillage everything for our own profit and comfort. No other species does that............

This is so tragic! Isn't there someone nearby who can save these poor sweethearts? Why is this still going on???

Humans who embrace evil, greed and cruelty are on the rise it seems. Our species is a true blight on this beautiful world. Too many of us over-populating, over-using resources without giving back and using other beings in such heinous ways. If we turned our attention toward voluntary human spay/neuter, this would be a much better world.

These beautiful girls deserve to have a life with a lot of love with a forever family. These poor babies have been abused and just were puppy machines. They shouldn't have to die because of the greedy people that used them up and now are just tossing them away. Do the right thing for these wonderful creatures.

Linda B., sorry, just aren't allowed to give you a green star again so soon..... did say,"...The evil of the humans i fear is spiralling out of control....".
For which I thank you. No one has said it better or more succinctly.
and thank you once again, Simone...

Once you have tamed something, you are forever responsible for that creature - AND all of their descendants too, of course!

I live in England, and there is very little I can do to help. Every single day there are hundreds of animal charities begging for donations. I can only give a little to a few, sadly.

I live too far away and I'm already full up. I have 13 cats and 7 dogs, dumped strays. Please, please do more on your part. Work to get these breeders stopped and tougher spay/neuter laws.

Neighbors of these people knew exactly what was happening, but no one cared. This is a disgusting sub-culture in this country. Whole neighborhoods turn a blind eye to the suffering. This isn't just one person's moral failure, it's a whole neighborhood's.

One of my neighbors was breeding dogs to race. He had horrible conditions next door to me. The mother dog's teeth were rooted off at the gum line. I can't even talk about what i saw without it tearing me up, still yet. But......I called the police and Animal Control enough times that he moved. His cousin now owns the place and he thinks that he will rent to some shady characters(like meth cooks) and others of the same ilk. It never stops, but then again, I am a constant thorn in their side. People like them never appreciate people like me.

Puppy mills and backyard breeders are the main offenders that contribute to the misery of these poor unwanted dogs, they are only in it for the money and aren't concerned too much about the conditions or welfare of the dogs ,some puppy mill owners have been exposed for their horrible neglect and bad conditions for their breeding mothers, backyard breeders should be licenced and only allowed to breed once or twice a year , fined -heavily and closed down if they do not follow follow these requirements,I hope these lovely old girls get a good home.

The questions were:
Did no one see what was happening to these dogs? Did no one hear them being forcibly bred and made to whelp litter after litter after litter so the owner could pocket from their pain?
The answer is: No, because all that people see is the MONEY that they are making!

People discust me. Its time for the government to step in and start regulating pet ownership. Humans have shown that they can't do it without rules.

If you have witnessed the neglect and abuse at the Devore shelter, please tell your story to Warren Eckstein. In addition to being an animal behaviorialist/trainer, he is a huge animal rights activitist who can and will organize protests and get the media involved. He is, after all, part of the media with his radio talk show on local radio station am 870 from 11:00 to 1:00. Anybody remember Karly, the German Shepherd who was beat to death by some dirtbag ex LA County Asst Fire Chief? Warren Eckstein was as tenacious as hell in beating down the D.A. on the case, including organizing protests at the county courthouse in Riverside. The ahole who bludgeoned the puppy with a rock was convicted. Warren E. can be a huge squeaky wheel, which is what it takes to cut through all red tape and government beaurocracy. We've all heard about the horror stories about Devore so I sincerely hope the folks behind them will speak up.

Warren Eckstein contact information can be found at
