57 years in a lab and still counting.......... Wenka was born to lab parents in 1954. When you think of the fifties, you think of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and James Brown. These performers have long passed, yet Wenka still sits in a concrete

Locked away in a cage for 57 years with no one thinking of her pain not only from the experiments, but from the loneliness everyday that she felt, and humans showing no empathy with her need for freedom
as we all have. This poor chimp who seen so many friends come and go, and even her own progeny taken away from her. She's been in this cage for generations and no one has thought about her isolation until now!
I wish we could all feel the pain of being denied a life to be who we were intended to be for just an hour to possibly understand the anguish this intelligent being must be feeling! Humans must stop looking at animals as if they have only been put on this earth to serve us! Their lives have value in and of themselves!

Animals have brains but no understanding of knowledge, Humans have knowledge but no brains, if they (Humans) did have brains they would not do all the horrible things that they do!

Simone, thank you for the heads up; signed and noted. Personally, I believe any scientist who believes that being locked in a cage and being experimented upon is okay for an animal, then that animal should be set free and the scientist caged in the animal's place. Do unto others as . . .

Signed and commented Simone. Thanks.
Makes me white hot with fury to see how our "master race" treats animals.
There are millions and millions of humans who have less intelligence and functional ability than these primates. Yet they have full rights because humans decided that only humans, no matter what, deserve every right possible. Animals regardless of intelligence, ability and sensibility, NONE. To use an Australian phrase, I am "pissed off to the max".
