After reaching out to several different international rescue organizations, we are glad to report that every group we contacted is doing whatever it can to help the animals that were abandoned at the Tripoli Zoo

I'm relieved to hear that and hope that all these animals will receive the care they need. I think the most tragic part of any war is the suffering of innocent bystanders, whether civilians or animals. Wish we could just put the politicians in a ring and have them duke it out themselves.

I e-mailed the WSPA and got word back that WAZA was working on getting into Libya. So sad that people cause the problems and that animals are often the greatest victims and the last ones helped. Hoping they get what they need soon!!

Everywhere on earth the animals are placed the most at a disadvantage... :(((
That is heartbreaking!
Why people always think first of their own race? Animals have the same right to live as humans and should never be forgotten when they need to be helped too. This is my own opinion!

If this conflict continues, those animals will be left to starve to death. This is awful.

All group are doing whatever they can to save the animals but only one of this organizations, the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA), has succeeded in making contact with officials in Libya and the director of the Tripoli Zoo. This poor animals are needs emergency help.

Since the March earthquake and tsunami in Japan, I have become a supporter of IFAW. This organization seems to be anywhere in the world where animals (domestic or wild) need help. Choose one of the groups who have responded positively to this cry for help for the Tripoli Zoo animals and make them your pet charity . . . evey little bit helps.

God Bless these animals. Wish they could get them out of this mess that humans have caused.
