Despite UNESCOâEUR(TM)s 1997 decision placing Lumbini on its World Heritage List and inscribing it as a site with outstanding universal value, eleven cement companies began manufacturing in the Lumbini Protected Zone (LPZ) between 2001 and 2011.

The center of Australia is pretty damn empty. Why not put these cement plants there? With all that sun, a solar array could produce all the heat needed to keep the kilns hot.

It isn't that I don't agree with the action, but we Americans are quick to tell other nations what to do with their land and their people. We have permitted Big Business to devastate much of ours land for profit and the abuse goes on.
