This is the dramatic moment that an elephant and its baby were rescued after they got stuck in a mud lagoon. Conservation workers, who normally have a policy of leaving nature to fend for itself as much as possible.

What a wonderful rescue, and the pictures says it all. Kudos to all involved, you reunited a family with two precious members that would have been lost forever.

It's so nice to read good news, it comes so few and far between. I'm SO THANKFUL, to the rescue workers, for getting the mom and her baby calf out of the mud. That mud hole should be covered in, not good for man nor animal. You usually just hear of elephants being poached, so this is a good thing. Restores faith, that man can help and not hurt a elephant..the way any elephant should be treated. To say that man shouldn't help the elephants and let nature take it's course, well that would be fine if that was all that could harm elephants. Poachers have taken nature, into his own greedy hands, and has been taking and taking. Bravo to the Rescuers again and to the mama and her calf!
