This planet's (some people) way of reasoning is weird. Captain Paul Watson is saving what is beautiful, now he is being punished. Where are we going to end up when good people doing good to animals on this planet, get imprisoned. This really is the age of stupid!

If Sea Shepherds wants to sop illegal activities, then let them get proper training and certification and authority to enforce international law.
Until they do that, they are nothing but vigilantes and eco-terrorists. He broke the law and is accountable for doing so. Let him rot in jail.

If there is an international arrest warrant out on Paul Watson (and his cohorts) then Germany had no other option but to arrest him/them. I must agree with Christopher (except the LAST SENTENCE) Off course I want to see him/them released asap, so that he/they can continue to do the work they have been doing...but couldn't they do it in a LEGAL way...??? This way, they are more akin to pirates.......!!!!!

Just where exactly off the coast of Costa Rica, in international waters,Costa Rican waters, there are no Atlantic Ocean South American shark finning bans, the only European Ban allows for the whole shark to be caught and different parts to be off loaded at different ports. There are no international bans in the Atlantic Ocean except with in certain territorial waters mainly in the US. Sounds to me like Paul the Pirate got caught once again committing an act of Piracy on the High Seas and now his criminal ass is being held to account UNDER THE APPLICABLE LAWS, just like his committing the ILLEGAL act of boarding a Japanese Ship without permission.

NOTED & SIGNED. re: this travesty of "justice" - I'm hoping that the German political climate now is improving. I'm so glad that Angela Merkel's rightwing Big Fail government is coming apart at the seams and the German voters are moving to the left as the result.

So they arrest a man that is trying to save live's, but they leave criminals out in the streets to continue harming the innocent, that makes no sense!!

Some Germans need their heads examined. Sharks should not be fished anymore unless you're a native subsistence fisherman and you or your people will eat the entire shark. Let Sea Shepherd's people go! End the whaling, shark fin slaughter, seal bashing, and other abuses of our oceans!
