As the noose slowly tightens around the neck of Resident Donald Trump, Fuhrer of the Republican Rectum Reich, it is apparent that he is on the verge of desperate measures. Sad as it it, it appears that there is nothing so sleazy and devious that Trump’s minions won’t pursue it in defense of Republican fascism.

And pardons will convince the public and at least some of his voters and the GOP that there was criminal activity to go with the pardon...and increase impeachment odds and other sad it was so blatant it only took 6 months in office to get to this point

If he (dt) pardons anyone or himself... isn't that showing they are guilty of collusion of the Russian involvement? I can't believe the low level that dt is going for, after Muelller to discredit him. Geez....what an A- - Hat!! Does he (dt) even know the meaning of the word, DISHONORABLE!?? My Gawd, what a shitfest!

"Therefore it is imperative that State AGs prepare criminal indictments against him for financial felonies committed within their borders."

Yup. Eric Schneiderman, New York, is working on this and I believe has hired Preet Bharara. Xavier Becerra, Calfornia, is working on something in connection with this. Support your local AG (if he or she is a Democrat.) I don't know where all Trump has properties, but there must ne a bunch.

What interests me primarily at this moment is, if Mueller gets fired, what will happen to his evidence. I would bet the Attorneys General also have some of it - may even have contributed to Mueller's investigation. If Trump fires Mueller, I would hope Schneiderman would hire him. I don't know whether he would have enough money, but I still feel it's a good idea.

Very ironic that Mueller's fate may be tied to that of Jeff Sessions. Very ironic.

His attempts to determine if he can pardon himself are an admission of guilt as far as I am concerned.

No, Pat, “dishonorable” does not exist in his universe! There is no level too deep for him to stoop to. If his pardoning people indicates guilt, he won’t care, because that guilt will never have been proven and he will refer to it as just “Your” opinion! We have not just “fallen under trump,” we are falling! And,if you know your physics, the speed of falling accelerates, hugely.
Like any serious narcissist, he will play any card he can with no regard to the consequences to anyone, or anything else, including the country he said he’d make great! And he is up there among the most serious narcissists, with his favorite author, “Mein Kampf Adolph.”

I couldn’t agree with you more, Pat!

With Drumpf having his attorneys dig up supposed conflicts of interest to discredit Muëller, he demonstrates just how afraid he is of what Muëller may uncover.  Getting his knickers in a twist as Muëller goes after his tax returns to establish patterns etc (I don’t think Muëller would disclose the information to the press or others) indicates to me that he has something to hide, something perhaps illegal or at the very  least, corrupt.

Drumpf is asking about pardons, but to pardon a relative such as Don Jr, Ivanka or Jared Kushner, or even himself, is a gross conflict of interest in my opinion.  Very hypocritical IMO when he is trying to nail Muëller for conflicts of interest.  But then, what else would we expect from a Republican, let alone a fascist dictator?

Resist and Persist!!!

Lock him up!!!

💙💚💜Noted...Desperate men do desperate things to save their sorry hides. Trump is so devious and crooked that it is scary for the millions of good Americans who didn't want this monster in charge but they got him and now he's becoming cornered and as a result is becoming dangerous. I pray the lawyers he hires have some scruples and tell him he mad his bed sleep in it and except the consequences.

💚💙💜Thank you...TomCat.💙💜💚

Is there anything of a foot left for Drumpf to shoot himself in? If he’s showing “interest” in his own powers to pardon his family and team members as well as himself, he might just as well put up a sign on the door of the Oval Office saying “Yes, I colluded with the Russians”. And having the few lawyers that are willing to work for him trying to undermine Mueller’s investigation with the intend of firing him, at the moment Mueller starts delving into Drumpf’s financial background, going back at least 10 years, to look for more clues there, Drumpf may just as well add a sign saying “and I’ve been in Putin’s pocket for years”.

It can’t be a coincidence that Mark Corallo, a spokesman for President Trump’s outside legal team, has resigned at this very point in time:

Corallo has been putting out statements on behalf of Marc Kasowitz, Trump’s personal lawyer who is representing the president in any matter concerning the investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 election and possible collusion with the Trump campaign.
Corallo, a former spokesman for the Justice Department, reportedly had been pushing back against any public criticism of Robert Mueller, who is the special counsel running the federal probe looking into Russian meddling. (Washington Examiner, Saturday, July 22, 2017)

I would be in favor of Nuremburg Trial equivalent for Trump and his associates, in business and in government to include Kushner, McConnell, Christie, Sessions, Pence, little Donny and all the rest to purge America from their spirit of treason and treachery, traitors one and all. Horrible, mean spirited ogres.

Give them a chance to defend their infidelities after being investigated and charged and put them where they can do no further harm, lock 'em up.

RESIST AND PERSIST is the phrase of 2017. The more we uncover the sleazy sewer that is the Trump regime, the more we spread the news of what is going in that un-drained swamp, the more we can stir up activism to oppose this abomination. We need to keep signing petitions, pestering our government representatives, marching and protesting, making sure our progressive kith and kin are registered to vote, supporting truly progressive candidates for office, and VOTING. Let us hope that we can still turn this country around by legal and peaceful means. 2018 may be our last chance - if it isn't too late already.

Trump has not really thought this one through, if he breaks wind he would either blame the dog or Melania which ever smelled it dealt it works on that one. Yet the whole basis of laws does rather frown on self pardonming as it would be an admission of guilt. At the moment the way he is getting nervous about the investigations and the stupidity of Junior publishing enough emails to hang him and his brother in law does suggest that Trump may be not so much clutching as straws as showing the Dunning Kruger effect in harsh perspective as it does look like he is as guilty as sin ... I could use some rather good Anglo Saxon phrases but they are generally frowned upon in polite society.

If he's not guilty, then he's certainly going about convincing us in all the wrong ways. He should be in prison, along with all those who were so willing to lie for him, with him, and about him. But then, I guess we can't imprison everyone just for telling lies.
Yes, love Rachel.
RESIST, PERSIST, and keep on FIGHTING! Thanks for the post, TomCat.

Lots of hate and falsehoods in the opinion piece. Lots of lib hatred in the posting.

You libs got to get over it. Donald Trump is our President. Going out to burn the American flag will not change things.
