When Resident Donald Trump, Fuhrer of the Republican Reich, appointed Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State, I called him a warmonger. Now, the Fuhrer is appointing a Republican to the post of National Security Adviser, John Bolton, that makes Pompeo seem like a flower child in comparison. Combined, the two of them could give Trump the foreign policy he craves. That makes Bolton the doomsday appointment.

I think I can think of more dangerous appointments, although I doubt if even Agent Orange would seriously consider them. Sean Hannity. Alex Jones. Dutch Sheets (yes, that's his name). Paul Begley. Joe Arpaio. David Clarke.

When I hear Trump speak I hear the devil, when I hear Pence speak I hear the devil, but when I hear Bolton the devil seems to be a moderate

i didn't even mention Pompeo like you did...........trump who sees a war and "the country coming together behind him" as his only hope has the war-mongering fear-mongering haters in the positions he question is where is the "big war"......NK, Iran, Mexico, ?????

haven't been this scared in decades that the world is heading towards either WW3 or a nuclear catastrophe......there is no such thing as a winnable war

MSNBC: Murphy's point about using war to distract from bad news at home is, sadly, a very common tactic among dictators, the value of which will not be lost on Bolton, or tDump.  We are in a boatload of trouble.
tDumps is " obviously committed to" the meeting with Kim Jong-un, but that means nothing, in the world of tDump!

I sure hope the Senate repugnants refuse to confirm Bolton, like they did when the resident chimp nominated him for UN ambassador. Unfortunately he finally got the job as a recess appointment. Bolton is insane and dangerous!

What do you get when you cross an epic train wreck with a rolling dumpster fire? The tRump regime. I will not dignify our current excuse for national leadership with a term like "administration." The Orange Ogre wants to be a dictator, controlling us all like puppets.

Fortunately, there are some hopeful signs. Red seats being flipped to blue, victories by genuine Progressives, nasty laws being squelched, the numerous marches and rallies since January of 2016. Keep up the good work, folks! Rise up, RESIST, PERSIST, INSIST!

It's getting scarier each and every day that this creep in office, continues picking the worse people to work in his cabinet. RESIST. Thanks TomCat

When I put up this comment yesterday, I only had seen the news breaking that Drumpf had appointed John Bolton as national security advisor after I had heard about the huge weapons deal with Saudi Arabia and commented off the cuff:

I’m now going to the bookies to place my bet on Iran to be the first target when Mueller gets too close. Why? At the beginning of the week Drumpf met with some Saudi princes and this photo was made: see PP

Saudi Arabia is Iran’s greatest adversary in the region and they’ve been battling control in the region out in Yemen, with the help of the US, costing the lives of thousands of civilians through bombing AND starvation. The UN has called Yemen a humanitarian disaster area. Now Drumpf has finalized 12,5 billion in arms sales to the Saudis, and there may be more to come. In the meantime Israel has also warned Iran for ‘retaliation’ for drones crossing the border and who knows what arms deals Netanyahu got to take home after his visit a few weeks back. Add to that the allies have been put under pressure to make deals to avoid stiff tariffs on steel and aluminum and a picture of a president readying himself to strike to deflect from being prosecuted is emerging. And Bolton is just the man to ‘support’ such a strike.

I’m very glad to hear that some senators are equally worried about all these things coming together at the same moment and that at least they are alert on what dire consequences this cherry-on-the-turd-nomination could have. I wasn’t happy to hear his conclusion though: Bolton reasoning that the president is authorized to (pre-eminently) strike any country which has the weaponry that can reach the US without Congress approval. Chris Murphy is right: that is a Pandora’s Box which should never be allowed to be opened by this vindictive and terrified madman in the Oval Office. Even if Bolton is wrong on this, as he’s been wrong on just about anything else, cornered Drumpf will be happy to believe him, and take Kim Yung-Un’s word for it that he can now reach the US, to get Mueller and the media off his back. And that is TERRIFYING 😱😨

I'm so upset by all that is happening that I took a news break day and am listening to music and watching fluff movies. I will get back to full throttle tomorrow but sometimes one has to unplug.
Thank you TomCat.

Resist, Persist Remove!!!

Silence is Consent!!!

@ Fran F --- According to various reports, Bolton does not need a confirmation hearing,. only Pompeo. That is one of many things that makes him so very, very dangerous . . . especially with Pompeo and the idiot Drumpf!

In this day and age with it's advanced deadly weapons, a preemptive strike on North Korea could lead to www3, due to the fact that Russia and China are North Korea's allies. Millions of innocent people died during the last 2 world wars. Trump is playing a deadly and INCREDIBLY STUPID game.
