Here are the results of our “Kavanookie Confirmation" Poll. Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories. Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population. Nevertheless, our polls are usually factually accurate, and more often than not, they reflect thinking of the majority of those who actually do think. 🏈

Yes, no point in leaving a poll up when the actual results have closed. And this is a good time for the new one because it's close enough to start making educated guesses, but not close enough to be certain (not that it ever is certain until everything is counted.)

Voted on your weekly poll. Plus all of my voters ballot came two days ago, so I will be preparing mine to drop off in person.
We all need to get out there and vote.
Thanks TomCat

Thank you for the Kavanazi poll results. Too bad the majority of us were wrong. I agree with Joanne that this is an excellent time for the new poll.
Thank you TomCat.

If I were American I would have ticked “voted down” too, because sane Americans must cling to hope to hold on to their sanity. Without hope many would fall into despair and that is the last America needs right now, so close to the midterms. So hold on to hope for the next 22 days and make it reality on November 8th!

Don't agonize - organize! Encourage everybody you know to vote, do your homework on all of your candidates at every level, then get your arses to the polls and cast informed ballots. Only by getting out the progressive vote do we have any chance to save this country - and this may be our final chance.

If we haven't already passed the point of no return.

Lona's perspective is a good explanation on why the majority were wrong...

Yes, we need hope. So many things have happened during the Trump administration that are unbelievable. I cannot fathom how he continues to get away with what he does. History will judge Trump and McConnell harshly but not as harshly as Peter at the pearly gates laughing hysterically when they show up expecting to be greeted with open arms.

I voted in the poll. I so hope that people are waking up to what a nightmare Trump and the Republican Party are for the country and vote accordingly.

Well Murkowski voted with the Dems and true to form, Manchin voted with Republicans. It is time for Manchin to exit! Such a loser!!! And of course there is Collins who has no backbone to stand for what she says are her principles. She betrayed her principles for 100,000 pieces of silver! She’s running scared about the 2020 vote when she will be up for reelection! I read that she has been making a stink about a fund to support a Democrat opponent who has yet to be determined! I should have known better — Republicans lie!

Resist, Persist, Remove!!!

Lock HIM up!!!

Silence is Consent!!!

Not surprised, that was a completely stacked deck. On the new one: Option 4. The chances of taking the Senate are much greater in 2020 and 2022. It would be enough, for now, if we can take and hold the House. ALL money bills have to originate there. That would be a check on the republicans that we desperately need while Mueller finishes and hopefully Trump and his regime are taken down.

The real problem with not taking the Senate is that the republicans will continue pushing through ultra conservative young judges until Trump is gone. That's a bigger issue than most think because the judiciary has abdicated it's neutrality and is as partisan as everything else right now. That'll hurt for decades. We need a larger fix in our system but I don't see us getting to that, the Constitution until the demographic changes coming are fully in place, and perhaps a bit beyond that. I won't live to see it. I regret that.
