5:40 If, as it says, those are spines, it might be a better toothpick than a meal.

SNL - The cold open was also hard to distinguish from reality. But that isn't really anything new. They do their job, and they do it well, so of course it looks real.

TNY - Sweet of God. But those people don't want new Bibles. They are thrilled with the ones they had signed by the Antichrist. Which leads into my next point - that God knew this was coming and can't really be "dumbfounded."

NYT - Not just Hillary. Gore and Kerry proved the same thing. This is nothing new. If we're going to be terrified, we should be terrified of going too far right, not too far left. That's where the real danger lies.

Cartoon - Oh, heck, you don't need a dawg. There are people reading this who would happily give him his golden shower.

RESIST AND PERSIST !!!

SNL: Ditto, it sure seems like real news (as I know it), and legit too. lol

NYer: God is obviously p'oed about this happening. Has dt even READ the Bible? Very offensive, imho.

NYT: We need to be careful, stay resolute, and go in for the WIN !!

Cartoon: When I first saw this...well, let's just say, I agree with Joanne's comment, and leave it there. lol

HI, WWWendy! Hope all is good with you. Hope that you have a good day, rest and relax, take good care, and Thanks, Tom.

SNL: So nice to see them doing serious news.
TNY: What Joanne said!!
NY Times: We would do well to adhere to a more progressive candidate, imho, figuring that the Dem. base is not going to vote for Drumph, even if he can, truly, demonstrate walking on water; though in his case the water would demonstrate bubbling, bubbling, toil and troubling!  Still, I am anticipating that a seriously progressive candidate would energize the younger Dems., who are going to inherit whatever we can salvage from the Drumph years.
'Toon: See how nicely that empty head fits on there, and the colors rather compliment one another.

So, Democrats are going back to the left? Not a moment too soon! Embracing a sellout centrist platform is what hamstrung them. I hope that the new blood forces the Donkeys back to the party's progressive roots. However, we the voting public have the responsibility of sifting through the candidates and separating the truly progressive wheat from the centrist, corporate chaff.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if portraits of the Tangerine Traitor grace (so to speak!) quite a few fire hydrants - on routes popular with dog walkers.

Nate Silver (538) tweet yesterday: Maybe the media's not doing a great job if most of the New Democrats are center-left but all the attention is on 3-4 really outspoken members on the left-most flank of the party?

We do need progressive policies that can appeal to the wider swath of more centrist Americans (is this pragmatism?) - perhaps if these Dems present those ideas. too?

Shouldn't that hydrant be orange?

SNL: Good one. I agree with you and others that it;s getting to be like we're watching the real news.
TNY: Why these people would even have him sign their religious item. 'll never understand? Agree with Joanne.
NTT: It's going to get wild with all of the players. Need to really watch for the one who's showing the strength in all directions to keep and stay way ahead of tRump.
Cartoon:Agree with Joanne's comment.
Hope you have a good day with Wendy's visit.
Take care.Thanks TomCat

Saw the following joke in a NYT Reader's Comment section. Thought I'd share:

A senior west wing staffer told trump he had a dream and in the dream trump got his huge military parade after all, complete with thousands of cheering people lining the streets.
"Was I smiling?", trump asked..
"I don't know" the aide replied.....
"It was a closed casket."

Puzzle --- 3:44 Watch those spines Puddy Tat if you are going to attempt to eat this fishie! Not to mention that is not even a decent snack in size for you.

SNL --- Not available in Canada!

The New Yorker --- God: a gazillion; Trump: zip, nada, nothing, zero.

"...furious at Trump “for defacing My book,” calling Trump’s signature “a wanton act of vandalism.”
… Trump had taken it upon himself to sign his name on a book to which he had “no relationship whatsoever.”"

Good one Andy! I am surprised that Trump has not yet claimed to have created the earth! He likes to take credit for everything else that is good.

NY Times --- "... Democratic contenders have largely broken with consensus-driven politics …" So how did consensus-driven politics do in 2016 despite the Russian "invasion" on behalf of Trump? "Consensus-driven politics" brought Clinton to the election who floundered because of excess baggage which Trump used to his advantage and which caused some Bernie supporters to bail. It is, IMO, time for bold action. Bernie showed what could have been had his supporters not bailed on Democrats.

Cartoon --- There is a presumed unintentional error in the cartoon. It should read "Dawgs" as in the plural. Perhaps you could even add some cats too since their pee stinks like ammonia! The more, the merrier!

Resist, Persist, Remove!!!

Lock HIM up!!!

Silence is Consent!!!

2:49 You can have it for dinner, TomCat.

SNL: I was so fed up with not being able to watch SNL and other videos from the US that I installed a VPN connection. Lo and behold, I now understood Pat’s update yesterday “*This just in: ‘New Commandment’: “Thou shall not sign the Bible as if you wrote it.” ~ God ~”

TNY: Thanks to SNL I’m more up to date, as I missed that Drumpf was signing bibles now. I wonder what he’ll do if someone hands him a Koran. Will he even notice and risk a fatwa? Other deities do not like their “word” vandalized by non-believers either. Andy hits the nail on the head; where was Mike Pence in all this?

NYT: Sharp left turn in the Democratic Party? I really like to think that there always have been progressives in the party, but that their voice was suppressed by the Democratic Party’s establishment. It took an independent Bernie to run for president under the Democrats’ flag to coax out the progressives and represent what always has been there at the roots.

Cartoon: Neapolitan-mastiff size, I hope.
