I watched Robert Mueller’s statement this morning. He there was no evidence that Trump did not commit a crime. He said that as a DOJ employee, DOJ policy does not allow him to charge a sitting [P]resident. Because he could not charge, he refused to opine further. He said the remedy is up to Congress, based on the evidence he preserved. In the meantime The Congressional leadership is under pressure from more and more quarters to open an impeachment inquiry. The graphic was my mistake

That compelling argument really is compelling, isn't it.

I have to believe that at least the Democrats in Congress understand that there is a huge difference between opening an impeachment inquiry and actually impeaching (who knows what Republicans think - they do elect ignorant people.)But I also think many fear that the voters do not grasp that difference. Opening an impeachment inquiry must come with a lot of explaining that difference, and, hopefully, help from the media (except of course Fox and Sinclair, which are worse than useless) in spreading the understanding of that difference. And I might point out that activists are not helping by shouting "impeach!" instead of "open an inquiry!"

Sorry for the triple post. I have no idea how that happened.

I too, also believe that the Dems need to stay focused on the investigations, and to keep them coming, alongside with a side plate of the impeachment inquiry. If we started a full force impeachment at this point, and failed, (as with the complacent R's), the bogus potus will use that point in firing up his base non-stop, and himself, as in 'look at me, look what they're doing' attitude. We must work slowly, systematically, and oust him in 2020 !!

Mueller was quite plain in outlining that the department of justice falls under the Executive branch and as such does not have the requisite independence to weigh in on the leader of its own branch of government, sorry Barr, you have no ranking here an investigation of the executive branch is above your pay grade.

Congress as the first among co equal branches of government has the requisite independence, standing and authority and does not answer to the executive branch. Congress answers only to the American people.

Steady, persistent, and consequent investigation, let the Trump syndicate get their come upins, together with the Republican co conspirators ( I won't mention any names, Mitch McConnell). Watch the vise close and the rats jump. Truth, justice and the American way, sound familiar?

#1 MSNBC: This is pressure that can build to a happy climax!
#2MSNBC: Harris puts it well, and succinctly.
Your argument against impeachment, is mine.
Things are ramping up, are they not?
“If Trump’s malfeasance doesn’t meet the criteria to at least initiate an Impeachment Inquiry, what does?” Amen!

you and I are in agreement for the only reason not to impeach....MP....but MP is not a cult figure and I think can be more easily beaten in a general election

Start looking into the proceedings for impeachment. We may not get there but it's worth looking into the process.

Appreciate that Mr Mueller did what he had to, so he could speak today to bring up issues that the no-good bArr wasn't telling us.
I honestly hope that the Democrats take what he said and use it wisely.
I know 3 of the current Democrats who are running for President 2020, are all talking impeachment.
All these damages are mounting up again tRump and hopefully will be taken care of in the proper manner.
Thanks TomCat

I don’t envy The Democratic leadership on their choice between continuing their current investigations and be completely stonewalled by Drumpf and his minions or starting impeachment procedures, even if they do not actually go for an unobtainable impeachment in the end. It is very hard for them to determine which option would have the most positive outcome by November 2020.

i saw it, how BRILLIANT was that!!!!

"If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so”
"A president can not be charged with a federal crime while he is in office"
— Mueller

He looks up when he wants you to read between the lines, those are the important parts!!

Why can't a president be charged??
i thought NOBODY was above the law!!!!

And then later back at the swamp what's-her-name LIED to reporters!!!
Meh!!
