My sympathies to the countries that had to host the Mango Menace. He is a supreme embarrassment to the USA - he is the real "washed up psycho." Let us hope that British hackers can get through to US voting machines and give the next election to the Democrats. :D

Joe Biden never had my vote, and he won't get it - unless he's the best the Democrats can do. If he's the best the Democrats can do to oppose tRump, this country is effed.

Straight Pride? Fiddle. When have people ever been persecuted for being straight? I celebrate Pride Month as a straight ally, but "Straight Pride" can count me out.

Bill - Monologue - Hard to believe we might be happy because he's home ... but when he is, at least he isn't quite such a visible international embarrassment. If you missed the video I linked to yesterday, go back a couple of pages - it's pertinent to the "straight pride" absurdity. "See, you didn't know whether he really said that" - straight news, Bill. We laugh in order not to cry.

Yang - The only jobs humans still do are sales jobs, and if you aren't a good salesperson (which I am not, by the way) you are unemployable. And, as Andrew points out, with people buying so much on the internet (the mobility challenged's best friend), even sales jobs are now in call centers. Ever worked in a call center? Also, Democrats have been the party of the working class during my entire lifetime. That never changed. Republican messaging changed, and they stole voters with lies.

New Rules - I'm older than Bill, and I am allergic to peanuts. Pooh. I wish I could remember who spoke at my commencement. High school or college, either one, I can't remember. The fact is - people who change the world are NEVER the ones you thought would change the world. Hey, Bill, in every generation there are people whose parents never told them "no." That's where assholes come from. My generation blamed that on "Doctor Spock." (That wasn't at all what he said, but when did that ever stop a good blame-fest.)

He's right on the whole "royal" concept. I've detested that forever, the very idea that someone's blood is better than someone else's offends me now and always has. Always will.

He was at his absolute ugliest on this trip. I don't know how he got to upstage Chevy Chase's European Vacation, but even Chevy was less embarrassing. That interview with Piers Morgan was insane. Not a fan. It was so far away. No one ever heard of the country? Every male child growing up in the 60's knew about that war, where it was, that the French lost. It was in the papers and on the news every night with the body count, the coming draft. There was even a television series (The Lieutenant) about it. He's flat out lying - again. Not only that but he WAS in a military academy, where I am quite sure the topic must have been mentioned. He's three years, nearly four older than I. It was just about all we talked about in high school, 63-67 for me, we had friends, older brothers already dying over there. He couldn't have not known about it. He took the trouble to get all those deferments. He knew, he lies.

You left out a piece of the show that was actually my favorite. Where Katie Porter laid down a scathingly funny piece about Biden's change of heart on the Hyde Amendment. If it was. I think it was political expediency personally, but she was brilliant, the best part of the show. I think that she is a woman with a bright future and one whom we will be hearing much more from as time goes on.

One other thing. Been thinking about it, stewing actually. I did not like the New Rule segment at all. If you want to blame someone for the state of the world today, you do NOT start with children. Gen Z, well, my grandson is 19, my granddaughter about to turn 17. I have not seen a generation as involved, as politically motivated in America since my own came of age in the 60's and early 70's. THEY are the ones leading the charge on the most important issues of our time, climate change, gun control, health care and more. They're the ones who go to school worried not about nuclear drills where my generation had to hide under our desks, but whether some maniac is going to come in with automatic weapons and kill them. Blaming THEM is ludicrous. If anyone saves this species, it will BE them. Rant could go on, but I won't. I'll just go steam some more for the moment.
