It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.

Attacks -- why is asking for facts that add up called attacks -- are they saying they know it all and that we are silly people that have no right to ask about this!

The evidence is there, if you're genuinely open to finding it.

This is the most serious crisis our planet has ever faced! It doesn't matter whether or not you LIKE the idea--it's REAL. Get used to it. Ask yourself what you can do to help offset the negative effects of greedy, irresponsible business has on the earth.

It doesn't matter how many facts are presented to deniers they are as obstinate as the birthers still questioning Obama's birthplace. No amount of facts will satisfy them. Maybe this is new science to some who have kept their heads in the sands and is a bit overwhelming but it doesn't change the facts.

Only the ignorant deny global warming- much the same as when some people didn't believe man walked on the moon. With all that is occurring around the globe why won't humanity take the necessary steps to help offset some of the changes we experience every day? We need to be responsible and take needed actions now while there's still time...the clock is ticking quickly.

If global warming proponents presented actual scientific facts without using their “little trick” to cherry pick data or relied on unscientific news stories, magazine articles and student paper to support their claims as well as outright lying about the evidence as they did in the UN IPCC 2007 Climate Report the number of deniers may not be growing so rapidly. The ones that are in denial are the supporter of the idea of manmade global warming because like religion they have blind faith in what their leaders are telling them without realizing those same leaders are making millions on a market they created.

Ralph, what will you answer to the child you're holding in the photo when she's grown up and have to tell her we didn't act when we could? Re: "The ones that are in denial are the supporter of the idea of manmade global warming because like religion they have blind faith in what their leaders are telling them without realizing those same leaders are making millions on a market they created." - I'm sorry to say you seem to have a big misconception of what people of faith do... they rarely have 'blind faith in what their leaders are telling them', but try to live a good life according to their faith's teachings/ principles and ask leaders/ more knowledgeable people for advice where appropriate. And re 'making millions on a market they created' - it's the companies that are making a mint now from polluting our planet that are stopping/ stalling positive action as they'd lose their profits and considering our current state of affairs is easier to make millions outside 'green business'. In peace, Rianne

I am going to make 1 big assumption, the oil companies are not going to stop, and no one is going to be able to make them stop. If and when the oil companies big pharma big tobacco and the rest are brought down I would image there is going to be alot of conflict. It is said "The meek shall inherit the earth.", who knows whats going to happen?
