thanks, its the least we owe them after stealing their lands, putting them on reservations, treating them like 2nd class people, etc...…...let us hope for a day when US lives up to the ideal that all people are created equally, all people have an equal voice and vote....

Wonderful news. I pray that this does go through for them. They have rights too.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Mitchell. I pray that Phil Lyman is soundly beaten. That kind of attitude has got be silenced, not given power.

I favor anything that helps our Native American people. European immigrants stole the entire continent from them.

"Anyone who doubts that the Udall legislation is badly needed can see why by listening to Phil Lyman, a Republican county commissioner now seeking a seat in the Utah House of Representatives. He has said the Navajos “lost the war” and should have no role in local land management. He’s not the only politician with that point of view."

So to this Republican, if you lose the war you lose your rights? Does that then apply to the formally Confederate states as well? Considering the former confederate states are largely red --- Republican --- that sure would be better for the country if there were fewer Republicans. Just think, no McTurtle etc.

The Indigenous peoples were here first and most definitely must have equal rights as every other American.

"So called democratic western world" ...

Commenting this subject will without doubt lead to unkind remarks (in the comment, and thus in the reactions), so let's jut say:

it's about time, isn't it, that they got the right to vote?

The Supreme Court just let a Voter ID law in North Dakota stand which will prevent many Native Americans from voting. The Republicans will do just about anything to up their chances of victory. They have no morals.
