The earliest squamates apparently appeared, "emerged, toward the end of the Permian, a period 270 million years ago that was abruptly shattered by one of the worst known mass extinctions."
There have been 5 mass extinctions, of which we are aware, and we may, now, be in the midst of the 6th. It Trump, and the fossil fuel industries, continue to ignore the science, in the future life on the planet may, once again, look very different than it used to, you know, back when we thought we were in charge!
