Heads up do not call ghost busters! Fun is one thing but when done to unaware people that end up moving or in mental wards. That's a whole new definition of Sickness. I'd like people comments on this and this is just one example.

They are taking this beyond just a horror joke prank and doing this to people live in real life. These people are admitting themselves believing they are really sick when they are not. Admitting themselves into mental wards even and maybe even killing themselves. It's gone beyond just a fun to watch prank now. Trying to make people believe they are "Crazy" when they are not isn't funny. It's terrorism. If someone you know is experiencing this MAKE SURE they are really, literally mentally ill and not being terrorized. I hope others here at Care2 find and post more stories on this.

That would be the last night he would be my boyfriend.
I don't like pranks like that. I even felt bad for Paris Hilton and the plane prank.

Trying to make people believe they are "Crazy" when they are not... isn't funny.
And, it has been done or tried SO OFTEN, that there is EVEN A WORD FOR IT. One that you may have heard.
That word, is "Gaslighting".
It comes from the {excellent} film, "Gaslight" - where Ingrid Bergman plays a 19th-century heiress to a fortune, her husband played by Charles Boyer, has married her only for her money, and he tries to persuade her she is CRAZY so he can get rid of her, get all the money and marry her maid, Angela Lansbury, with whom he is having an affair.
He is searching for valuables which are {unknown to the heiress} hidden somewhere in the attic of the house she has inherited; and when the Ingrid Bergman character thinks she hears "noises in the attic" - him searching for the goods - he tells her she is "hearing things" and "going crazy". He is helped by the maid, who supports him by lying that "she doesn't hear anything". He is extremely domineering and manipulative of "his" women.
"GASLIGHTING" is now a real verb in the English language. It is often used especially to describe people wanting WOMEN to believe they are crazy, for challenging the Patriarchy - but it can be used in any context.

I'm with Nancy, anyone that did something like that to me would need a new place to live and boxes to put all their possessions in that I had thrown out the window.

I love horror movies and Halloween but I don't consider this funny or acceptable. For me, that dude would be history faster than the speed of light. I think BMutiny has a point about gaslighting. It's not the kind of thing to foster trust in a relationship.
