Oil prices slipped early Monday, as investors breathed a sigh of relief following news that U.S. forces had killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Its nice that the price of oil came down, but the death of bin Laden isn't going to change anything. The 'war' on terror will continue. Al Qaida has been reduced to a widely scattered splintered group of individual cells that operate independently from one another.

The freezing of bin Laden's assets years ago temporarily cut off Al Quaida's funding, but they are now raising money through various criminal activities and no longer needs the funding bin Laden once provided. Justice for the families of those that lost loved ones has been served, but that is the ONLY thing that has changed.

Just goes to show that oil prices are based more on emotions and greed than facts.

Freya, same here! If the oil prices are down, how come our gas prices still went up?
I'm so sick of being at the mercy of the giant oil conglomerates.

I'll believe it when I see it when the prices drop. They ought to take ALL of Bin Ladens estates enculding oil and put us back what the war cost and then some and put the economy back to normal.

Really?! In Bulgaria people can buy with a middle salary 100 liters fuel, in the U.S. - 1200.

Even if the barrels are lower for now, the fuel prices will remain high, due to the fact that we won't know what will happen next. I hope we finally end this useless "War on Terror". Just like the "War on Drugs", it will never be done, and will continue to waste more money until we're broker than broke and HAVE to stop.
