Hey, now we know what to do with the flies they're paying for in China! Just pack 'em in medical packs and ship 'em to Iraq and Afghanistan. . . I'm waitin' for the FDA to authorize leeches now (got any batwing or eye of newt?). . .

They showed maggot therapy on a medical show...the woman had a wound on her foot that wouldn't heal...they showed the progress and it worked. I don't know if I could handle feeling them wiggling though! IF I'm not mistaken...FDA did authorize leeches.

When I was a lot younger, I had a long conversation with a man whose leg was saved from amputation because of maggot therapy. This occurred in the late 30's or early 40's. With so many antibiotic resistant microbes reported now, we need every option that works--even if it seems repulsive (and this sure does!).

I believe the maggots eat up the infected flesh and therefore the wounds would heal. I say it amazing!
