I can also tell you from the data that the current heat wave and drought in Texas is so bad that calling it "extreme weather" does not do it justice

Hey Governor Perry! Wanna come on in out of the 110+ degree heat? Have a drink of water? Oh wait, Lake Travis has run dry, and so have the taps. Thirsty?

WTF..you mean they've run out of deer and geese and other wildlife to shoot for sport in Texass..! That being said, I hope you gest as to Lake Travis going dry...Lake Tavis...far side of it .Hippie Hollow...was the only reason we live there twice..a few years at a time back in the 80's and then again in the late 90's. Unfricken believeable if this sad mention is true...and this dirt bag thinks that a natural thing. DOWN WITH PERRY...now I dislike the mini Dubya on Jesus juice from hell even more than I did a few minutes ago. What 'a tool' as the PC saying goes. It is painfully clear that both Dubya and Perry have no brains...just recorded sound bites given to them by their handles......

I have to say Perry and his ilk are a huge part of the problem just like every other fossil fuel puppet in government. The climate change deniers could burst into flames and their last words would be that climate change doesn't exist.

Anti-science people do not belong in positions of power.

It is so good to hear Academia stepping up to the plate and calling these "politicians" out....not everybody is as dumb as they(politicians) think we are...far from it!

I didn't like Rick Perry from the time I first heard of him but every time he makes a move I like him less!

great to see the scientists pushing back, but sad to see some of the responses on the original article still trying to deny and argue against what is written.

Liar, liar; Earth on fire!

I wish I could send a green star to Andrew Dessler.

Perry has been exceedingly lucky as our Governor; he's run against weak opponents and been well-financed by the corporate interests he cares so much about serving. He's also capable of spinning his failures into successes in the press - for instance, the truth about the Texas "miracle" is that it's a ton of low-paying jobs without benefits, usually flipping burgers or delivering newspapers, that type of thing, and the occasional quality job is poached from neighboring states. He'd be an absolute disaster as President of the country; thank goodness he can't win a national election.
