Vivisection is not even a validated method. Animal experiments can be replaced by methods that are cheaper, quicker and more effective - but they are not used. Why?

Vivisection has not even been validated -- why have so many animals died, 2000 a minute.

Give us healthy foods to begin with & all this experimentation of innocent animals would be unwarranted! All these born deceases are caused because they are responsible in creating it in the first place! It is big business to keep us sick. Heck new deceases surface as they see fit! And a pill is right there to fix the problem! How marvelous it all is! IF we had leaders that wants the best for people then they would make sure that food companies had proper food, not junk, not chemicals & additives, MSG & GMO, then we would not need all the drugs that they test on animals in the first place because people would not be sick eating good food. It comes down to when we have a healthy diet we have a healthy body & these drugs is a means to an end to justify the cruelty to these innocent animals. So many things being done today is for greed of the few, if logic & common sense is used much of this insanity that keeps jobs alive that serves no one would be phased out!

Once again these methods are discarded so readily in the name of the almighty dollar, so the companies can "justify" their high research costs to be passed on to the consumer. Thanks Laura

The sadists have already had too much fun.

But the wheel turns and the wheel turns.

The time for animals to be used is over and done with. . .
Why is it that we know this as factual. . .yet the scientists don't want to have change. . .
I think that change is needed. . .but is not going to happen very soon. . .

Noted. . .

That picture is horrific. Absolutely no reason for this torture to continue in a moralistic society.

M. Renť Descartes is often considered the father of vivisection because he absolved scientists saying that animals have no feelings and are just machines. If you hurt a dog he cries not because he feels pain but just as a reflex as the clock does tic tac. This was in the 17th century: 400 years ago! I wonder who would like to be treated with the medicine of 400 years ago.
So why is it still in use today? It is not in spite of its unreliability, but BECAUSE of its unreliability. Big Pharma likes it because with it you can prove everything and the contrary of everything: just choose a different species or a different environment and you get the results you want. This is extremely useful to get off the hook when they are taken to court for some blunder who killed people. They will save themselves saying that on some mice the product was ok. In fact we know everything about caner in mice for example: a pity we donít know the same for humans!
And whatís the interest of big Pharma to keep us wealthy? They would all go bankrupt if we didnít fall ill. Itís their interest to keep us chronically ill. Would the pub-owner support people going tea-total? Of course not.

Thank you, Laura. I hope there is Karma, because there are a lot of humans out there who deserve a big bad dose of it! Thank goodness I know so many caring, kind and humane people, if I didn't I'd be out on the street deranged, raging and pulling our my hair from all the cruelty and horror some people cause and do.

Once we've programmed the 'virtual animal' code into modern computers, vivisection and most other animal experiments become superfluous and should be ended. Let the biology class use a mouse pointer shaped like a scalpel to dissect a virtual frog on a computer screen, rather than have to deal with 'pithing' and killing frogs to take apart. Other means that obsolete vivisection are also available, we should use them!

Animal research needs to stop!! Use a animal robot for heavenly sake! It's better than touching any live ones.
