I just spoke with an attorney friend of mine.... Congo may be able to get a reprieve in Superior Court. But not likely. The illegal immigrants did trespass, commit damage to personal property (dog-Congo) and then commit assault and battery on the owner. How this is fair in the US? I don't know... I suggest as soon as possible, if Congo isn't going to get a reprieve, have a plan for him to disappear and FAST!

I'm glad the owners are taking this case seriously which offers us a little more time to make more calls, NOT to mean that allows us to procrastinate. We MUST make calls immediately!! I sent this alert out for the 3rd time this morning Nadia, Marcy, everyone. I hope everyone is "FORWARDING" it. Thanks all!!

You would THINK that with all the protest, petition, letters, calls, emails, for thousands, that this judge would reconsider his posission....but NO. Stubborn fool!! It will cost him a big chunk of his reputation and likely his job in the end.

I'm sure there are plenty of people who would gladly 'hide' this dog if the worst comes to the worst. Sometimes people have to take justice into their own hands when there is none. Sometimes people have to take a stand against the idiots who tell us what to do when we know they are wrong.

Noted. This matter needs to be put to rest and I don't mean the dog. Since when is a person trespassing on another person's property free of guilt? Putting the dog to sleep would be criminal act itself.

GREAT NEWS FROM ROY JAMES:

Roy James (0) Thursday November 15, 2007, 12:42 pm
Guys..... CONGO IS GOING HOME...... At this minute... my brother got the papers to go and pick him up from SAVE... They are still going to the Supreme Court.... But at least he can be at home until the appeal can be heard..... Good job everyone.... BUT, The fight is not over yet.... We still have to get him and the other dogs released of their status of being dangerous. Again, I want to thank you on behalf of the whole family for everything everyone has done. Don't stop the fight until we finish with the appeal....

Keep calling the mayor and the Gov... The more they here the more pressure it will be on them to get rid of the judge and the animal control....

More News from Roy James:

OK guys... here is the short version.... CONGO is home pending the hearing on the appeal.... Him being home does not mean anything in terms of how this will end up... Basically he is out on bail... He is doing well.... He found his mate Lucia and had lots of play time with her.... For those of you that live in NJ or NY... Channel 7 and Channel 4 will have a segment on Congo at 11:00pm tonight.... We can't stop now, because it isn't over.... I wish you could all see Congo when he stepped out of the car on his property.... The kids were so excited. Again, thank you for everything.... Don't forget... We can't stop now.. We still have to call the Gov, and the Mayor to make sure if it doesn't go our way in court, he still has a fighting chance.

Oh, so you know how "Vicious" he was... He let all the new cameras, photographers, and media in the house and was playing with them... Again, these are people he has never met before.... Please, how can someone even call this dog "vicious".... Makes me sick....

Just so everyone is aware... there is a fence that boarders the property. He lives on 10 acres. There is a gate, and double fence. He also has an electric fence as well as a physical fence. It is a very secure place.
My 6 year old daughter is just back from playing with Congo and Lucia... She is telling me now to tell you all how much she loves Congo.... She can't believe that the police would want to hurt him, as he is such a sweet dog. I only wish you could all meet him... He is the best. You all are the best for all your hard work and efforts. Thanks.

So I can go muder somebody today, and be a nice guy the rest of the month, and I'll be innocent?

Past Member (0)
Friday November 16, 2007, 3:29 am
Wake up. Pretending the dog is innocent is just because he is nice & gentle most of the time is laughable. But I do agree that death penalty is disproportionate to the dog's offense. Death penalty is an iffy area even for humans, yet humans are the only ones who are truly capable of conscious evil, so why is death penalty acceptable for an animal, which, though misguided & guilty of the said offense, is not truly evil? Take him away from his masters & into a shelter. Give him a chance. This is just a case of "let's kill him cause his life ain't worth the effort & cost of trying to save"... Sad world.

A message from Roy James:

OK guys... Go have fun with this... Here is the number for the Animal Control Officer Mark Johnson, who has named Congo as Vicious.... 609-924-2728 work, 609-610-3797 cell, and if you want to speak with his boss call 609-497-1989, and ask to speak with Mark Johnson's boss.... We need to get him out of this job, as he has clearly no clue to what he is doing... He is willing to put a good dog down to death, for no reason..... Can't let this happen to someone that can't defend themselves.

Public debate over the incident has even reached the office of Gov. Jon S. Corzine, who said last week that while he sympathizes with the dog, he's leaving the animal's fate up to the courts.

The governor's office has received more telephone calls, e-mails, letters and faxes about Congo than about any other issue since the governor took office. Almost everyone has demanded Congo be freed, a governor's spokes man said.

The James' have appealed the judge's ruling that the dog be put down. Until the appeal is heard, Congo is permitted to stay with his family with some restrictions such as wearing a muzzle while he' s outdoors.

James said he's rejected a plea deal that would allow Congo to escape euthanasia, provided the pet be labeled "potentially dangerous." He said his dog is not dangerous, and admitting so would be wrong.

http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071129/NEWS03/711290402/1007

Governor Corzine must be made aware that this is not only an animal rights issue but more over a property rights point.

A property owner has a right to protect family and home from intruders.
This will set precedent for every homeowner with insurance companies and claims for the right to safeguard their life and property.

Please take action:
Gov's office is taking a numerical tally on how many pe ople call - please call him:
609- 292-6000
