To Support Healthy Food, Share This Video Now!

You may have heard that the House passed a controversial version of the Farm Bill last month that excludes the supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP, formerly known as food stamps). It remains to be seen whether this bill can be reconciled with the Senate's version passed earlier this year, but we are continuing to work to promote critical programs for healthy food and sustainable agriculture in the Farm Bill.

These programs stand a chance today because of YOU. Thank you for sending emails and making phone calls to improve the farm bill. To show my appreciation, I wanted to share with you a special sneak peek of our brand new video.

The video is a part of new analysis from UCS which presents even stronger evidence that shifting Farm Bill funding to fruits and vegetables—instead of ingredients used for processed foods—is vital for our health.

In fact, this video—which I'm emailing now only to our most active supporters—shows how our current food and farm policies like those in the Farm Bill are actually killing us.

We now only have 54 days left until the current Farm Bill expires—it is more important than ever to spread the word and change our nation's policies to support healthy food.

Tell your friends about our video today!

title= Check out our "An Apple a Day..." video and share!

care2 (for several months now, certainly often, maybe always) discards everything starting with a " from the title of a C2NN-post.
workaround: use ' instead, or ''two of these''
and please ask care2 to fix this !

Thanks David. It was fixed for awhile so I stopped worrying...sigh.

More fruits and vegetables is an idea I love. It costs us much more to buy a diet of whole foods than it does to buy a bunch of junk. Our grocery bill is terrible, and rising fast. Thanks, J.L.

Yes! I do believe that the constant pressure from, "foodies" is having an effect. People want to know more and want to learn about good food.

Our own little tiny group of "Bountiful Baskets" has grown rapidly in the last few months from a couple of families to long lines of people eager to get affordable fresh fruits and veggies. For $15.00 there is more than enough to please many tummies.

You mean to say that Big Food Corps haven't been on the ball to catch all this going on under their noses??
Nice to know. My food budget has taken a big hit ith fresh fruit and veggies, very little organic - my budget is mostly SNAP, so I have a keen interest in what Congress does abut this. If I no longer have SNAP, it will more than hurt...there will be a move and big cuts in food allowance from the little cash I have - I say this not just for myself but for all those seniors out there who are barely making it as it is.
Noted and thank you.

You are welcome GGma. I feel your pain--many seniors who used to donate are now food bank recipients. Asking your representatives to visit your local food bank while they are home on this break to connect with the reality of food insecurity might help.
You cannot currently send a star to GGma Sheila because you have done so within the last day.
