5 U.S. Marines Killed in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan - Five American marines died Thursday, four of them in a single strike by a roadside bomb, making it one of the bloodiest single attacks against American servicemen in recent weeks.

"The four marines were killed in a vehicle near Herat in the western part of the country. A fifth marine, wounded in a roadside bomb attack in Farah Province on Wednesday, died from wounds.

Taking a page from the war in Iraq, Afghan insurgents have been rapidly making homemade bombs their preferred weapon against the soldiers of the American-led coalition. There were 465 bomb attacks against coalition troops in May, more than twice the number from the same period the year before.

wow! that sucks! My nefew is over there right now and 1 of his friends from high school was killed by sniper fire after pushing 3 of his buddies in the ditch, they shipped him to Germany to keep him alive as he had donated his organs. He was 20 years old and has a twin brother. This happened about 2 weeks ago. I didn't know about this part of the site til today. May God Bless them all and their loved ones!!

War is hell. There is torture going on, women & children dying or committing suicide, with 17,000 more US troops being sent this year. That puts about 300,000 men overseas.
