A radioactive tracer that "lights up" cancer hiding inside dense breasts showed promise in its first big test against mammograms, revealing more tumors and giving fewer false alarms, doctors reported Wednesday.

I do hope they can eventually lessen the radiation this will put out..but it is very good news..I am so glad that they are working on a more thorough way to detect breast cancer..This is so long over-do..

Thank you Cate..As you may know I was misdiagnosed many many years ago..but..this is especially important right now to my younger sister was just diagnosed with breast cancer..Had it not been for the third pathologist who read her slides..(this was after two mammograms..and a sonogram..and even a biopsy..she would have gone undetected..It was the MRI that finally showed 5 lumps and several spots..

It is so disturbing that there is not a better way to detect these things..
