The world is on the cusp of a 'post-antibiotic era' scientists have warned on finding bacteria resistant to drugs when ALL other treatments have failed. They identified bacteria able to shrug off the drug of last resort, colistin, in patients & livestock.

Thanks Rosie and Darren. As one who spent 4 months this spring and summer on various antibiotics for what was a simple sinus infection I can totally believe we are heading for a time when NO antibiotic we currently have will work to fight off infections. For me, I had to have surgery to remove the infected tissue and surrounding area. Last spring, one round of antibiotics killed a sinus infection so things are definitely changing and not for the good.

Not surprised at all, the way we live is unsustainable!
Agree with Freya, although i don't think it's nasty to say this could be the 'natural' human cull necessary for balance.

No drugs can deal with the problems led by ourselves; deal with the root
