I know the economy is hard, but if there is any way you can help save these innocent babies, please help! If 720 people gave ONLY $10 each, we can save them all! Please email and crosspost!! Some are as young as ONE month old! Give $10...and save a LIFE!

I wish I had the money to donate something, but I live in a self-chosen poverty for a low carbon footprint. I will forward this to those others and I hope the money can be obtained. Frances

I don't have the possibility to donate, but I want to protest. I hate the thought of any horses being slaughtered. It's also impossible for me to accept that horses are being slaughtered for their meat. In the Nordic mythology the horse is a creature which belongs to the gods so eating horses is completely wrong to me.

Feathers Foundation Inc
Feathers Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) Foundation created for the purpose of rescuing animals from neglect, euthanasia, and slaughter.

Circle L Ranch was purchased in August 2006 in response to the enormous need for a horse sanctuary. The combination of the closing of Premarin Ranches in Canada and the huge excess of horses in the United States is resulting in thousands of horses being sent to the slaughterhouse in Canada and here in the US. These horses are very young, very old, or in between. It does not seem to matter whether they are friendly, broke to ride, or have won trophys at the racetrack. If they are no longer wanted, they all meet the same end.

Thanks Dave for enlighten us about Feathers Foundation Inc, and thank God for their existence. The crux of our society really are the slaughterhouses where unimaginable cruelty takes place. Once human beings embraced vegetarianism, our planet will become more peaceful and all forms of animal abuse will be viewed as what it is: ABUSE. As it stands, how can we say that beating a dog is wrong, yet dragging a little calf into a slaughter facility is acceptable, huh? Where is the logic here? That's why eating meat is wrong. We have the brains (at least we should) to feed ourselves by not having the blood of innocent tormented animals on our hands. Anyway, I just needed to vent, it felt good.

I have rescued a horse and two donkies from a slaughterhouse and believe me, they are fun to have and they also eat the dog dry pellits.

'This just came to me via email from Chastity Rogers/ HSUS:
Just wanted to let everyone know that I have contacted several people about this and it looks like there is a rescue group that our Equine Services group has spoken to and they are immobilizing some help on the ground in Arizona.

It is called Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary in AZ If you have people that are concerned and want to help, they should contact this group as the point organization on this situation.

Our Arizona state director is aware of the situation as well and is organizing her network to do the same there....
TERRIBLE SITUATION! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I hope we have been of some help.' Chastity

Thank you.

To ease Leanne's mind along with every one else: I personally use the site to donate and have never had a problem. It IS secure! Also, if you need to donate using PayPal, just use as the email address and put 27 Mares in the notes field. The money will get to where it needs to be. They still need donations, so please crosspost!!

Thank you, everyone for caring so much about each of these lives! I know we are all facing tough times, but what is a life worth? Surely, we can make a difference!!
