An animal trainer at SeaWorld Orlando was killed this afternoon in front of horrified theme park visitors by an orca that was involved in two previous deaths.

This is such a tragedy. However that orca in particular since he did kill another person should have been seperated and never allowed to work with humans. and new Orcas should have a number of years to entertain and then seperated.

Serial killer whale.Hm,i don't like the title at all.
Still we haven't learned from this.
I feel much more sympathy for the orca, then i feel for the trainer, call me cold.I do feel sympathy for her family and the children who witnessed this incident.
Robert, you say : "since he did kill another person should have been seperated and never allowed to work with humans. and new Orcas should have a number of years to entertain and then seperated"

Oh my,it should never be allowed to work with humans again?
It should never be allowed for humans to work with wild animals wich belong in the ocean.Ever seen how they capture wild orca's for Marine Parks ???
I suggest you watch this video :

Orca's,dolphins, ect ect belong in the wild !
But one orca can bring up to few millions a year for a Marine park.
So again, the greed overcomes the well being of the animals

This Orca needs to be released into the wild. If it is kept at Sea World it will surely have more opportunity for other such incidents.

I really cant believe that they have allowed another human to have contact with this whale. Surely the Orca could've been released back into its natural enviroment.
Its sad that is has happened again and my sympathy for everyone envolved, and yes im afraid to say i have sympathy for this Orca as well.
Thanks for the story.

to me it seems that there was more than one life lost here, sadley and with respect the woman trainer, but what about the sad lives of all the caged mammals, the magestic whales and dolphins who were taken from their natural environment, their homes. the Ocean? nature intended these wild mammals to be free, roam the vast oceans hunt for their own food, they were not made to have human contact, or made to do daily tricks for mankinds amusement, and when they attack, it states it was their fault, call them killers, wouldnt you lash out if you could if you were captured and taken from your family, made to do tricks for other peoples amusement, all your basis needs taken away from you, of course you would fight for your freedom, what gives mankind the right to capture mammals or any animals from the wild and try to tame them, or think they are being kind to them, it is downright cruel, and all of these establisments should be closed down, and all of those poor mammals set free to live out what is left of their tortured lives in freedom, we all have a basic right to our freedoms, and wild animals are no different to us they want their freedoms as well, as they cannot speak out for themselves then we should be their voices, and tell those who will listen that we want all wild animals/mammals to be left alone to live out their lives as mother nature intended..WILD & FREE..noted with sadness

This is so sad. I heard the trainer's family on the news say "she died doing what she loved" and I thought that was a sad thing to say. It could have been avoided. She didn't have to die that way if the whale hadn't been kept in captivity in an unnatural little swimming pool.
