I have a great respect for Megachurch Pastors, they have been touched by God in order to do what they have done. We are all humans, we all make mistakes. If only we could accomplish the wonderful things that they have.

noted, but I still expect our pastors to be examples of the morality they espouse.

I think to many of them don't practice what they preach and are total hypocrites hiding behind a phony veil.

Schuller's Crystal Cathedral just filed for bankruptcy protection.

According to former members of the church that Jerry Falwell took over before he moved on to the Thomas Road Baptist Church, he was always power mad and unethical.

I remember a service I attended in Milwaukee, WI, at the new "megachurch" on the west side in 1980 or '81. It was the most chilling experience I have ever had in a church. The pastor portrayed himself as Christ-like. The service was all about obedience to the word according to the pastor. I never went back.

What about the largest and most ridiculous of them all: polygamist child molester Joey Smith, Junior's absurd Mormon bunch that believes this dimwit found a bunch of brass plaques in New York State that were buried by "god".

The tallest building in Salt Lake City, towering high above the "Temple" (closed to everyone but the paid-up initiates) is the skyscraper that is the office building of the Moron -- er, Mormon -- church.

And there's the statute of Brigand Young, Joey's successor, with his back to the Temple and hand out toward the bank
