The mayor of a southern Italian beach town has ordered police officers to fine women who wear short miniskirts or show too much cleavage, as part of a battle to raise what he describes as the level of public decorum.

He would have a heyday here in the States. So many women and young girls dress like hookers.

Not allowed to wander off the beach in your bathing suit? So, you have to pack a turtleneck and sweatpants with your bikini I guess... *rolls eyes*

Indecent clothing I understand, like see through shirts with nothing on underneath. But, swimming suits near a beach? Mini skirts? Going a little over board.

"Berlusconi's People of Freedom party ticket, won a vote to ban clothing considered "very short"..."

"The miniskirt ban is one of 41 new decorum measures introduced by Bobbio. Swearing in public, kicking footballs in the street, lying on benches, climbing trees and walking a dog with a lead longer than two metres will also be targeted. Bobbio said people would not be allowed to wander off the beach in their swimming costume."

People of Freedom party?

Well, they have a saying in Italy about the south: "Africa begins at Rome."

My bucket list fantasy on where to spend the last day of my life is at Quadri's Cafe in Venice or in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan at the time the offices in the area close for the day and the beautiful and sexy, fashionably dressed Italian women leave work.

Really? Let people do their thing, i'm sure there are far less trivial issues that this mayor could be addressing. Let's start with all the blatant poverty in southern Italy. And as far as kicking footballs in the street being illegal.. How un-Italian can you get? What's next, fining people who eat pizza whilst walking?
