12 Year Old Girl Saves Horses From Slaughter

Animals  (tags: ethics, law, rights, women, animal welfare slaughter )

A recent act of extreme kindness has occurred in a small town in Maine by an amazing 12 year old girl. Her act deserves much more press and acknowledgement and I was hoping you all thought so too. The link to the story is below. We hear of so much bad

May blessings shower on Meghan's head like a cloudburst. May she be unable to escape good luck, while bad luck flees her approach. May her friends be legion, and loyal as dogs and dependable as the sunrise, and may her enemies be few, scatterbrained and weak. May her wallet be a magnet for large bills, and may her sincere wishes come true in the best way possible. May everyone who does her kindness receive good luck when it is most needed.

What an amazing young lady! She has the heart of a person much older and wiser! She will be blessed by Karma and all the animal angels there are! What dedication and perseverance! She is teaching us old foggies what it is to be a true animal activist! Bravo and charge on, my dear! You have a long life of doing good and we will be hearing of you again!
Thanks for steering this story to me, Carrie! And Helene, kudos for a great, heartwarming story. It shows that not all kids are glued to an iphone or computer! Excellent, absolutely excellent!
May she always have a carrot in one hand and a bucket of oats in the other!

Utterly wonderful story - I do hope though that someone can invent a contraceptive pill for horses and other animals or this is going to carry on happening all over the world - and millions of animals will die that didn't need to due to nature's way of making animals breed yearly. God bless Meghan forever - and I second Freya's wonderful blessing!

I keep saying it, and they keep proving me right, but this generation born since 2000, though they are still very young are going to do amazing things. They not only are the future, they are the best of humanity, most of them, already with loving hearts and wise beyond their years. They're going to change the world. Some of them already are and younger even than Meghan. If things weren't so bleak in terms of climate change and what that portends for our world, I'd go so far as to say this group would be the one to bring peace to our world - particularly the young women including some we already know about like Meghan and Malala who are going to help women transition into places of real power in ways the world has never seen. That part is coming anyway, I just wish it could happen fast enough to avoid the catastrophe to the planet that climate change is going to bring.

Meghan you are an amazing 12 year old, full of compassion, and a heart full of love. Goodness will surely be returned to you two fold. I am so happy for you that you have Dreamer and Murphy, and that they are at a therapy ranch. It would be fantastic if they become therapy horses! All the good luck in the world with these horses.

Noted Tks. Helene.. And a Special Kudos to Meghan for being a very Special Young Angel two these two beauties. I've been saying this, you'll never get rid of Slaughter as long as what Meghan said

Slaughter really exists because of overbreeding, breeders and backyard breeders.

I don't think Meghan is finished yet. If she can accomplish what she did at the age of 12, just imagine what she'll be like in years to come! Thanks for sharing this beautiful story, Carrie!
