Although the real numbers might have changed, it is an interesting article pointing out the hidden costs of oil.

The largest "consumer" of oil is the MILITARY COMPLEX of the United States.
American ran away from this kind of tyranny a long time ago and "the bankers" are back.

Good story, but it left out a major domino effect, in another economic direction, and that is the war of drugs, of which Hemp oil, was fossil fuels major competitor! The only thing that you can't make from Hemp oil, that you can make with fossil fuel is Pollution!
In 1936 Hitler sent up the first governmental space bound rocket, but it could not penetrate the ozone layer of thick plasma, and exploded!
Science, came up with the answer, to create a bubble in the ozone layer, by reducing the amount of oxygen being produced on earth, of which met massive deforrestation, of which was accomplished by outlawing Hemp, of which was the number one paper materal, in order to justify using trees to make paper! The bleaching process of paper, dumped millions of gallons of bleach into the oceans, causing red tide!
Diesal fuel was made from hemp, up until it was outlawed, of which gave big oil a monopoly!
In their quest for oil, they discovered more drugs/plants that they could add to their new found war on drugs/nature, to outlaw in indigant people of the lands above their underground treasures!
Hitler stated that whom ever controled Afghanistan, would control the world, because of it's vast natural resources, but Hitler failed to procure it, then Russia, picked up the ball, and went bankrupt, so we picked it up, liberated the opium poppy from the Taliban, for it was the death penatity to produce heroin, not it is free trade!
Nasa and the space program, is the main focus of their concockted plan of world domination, Isiah 14:12-14, talks about how Satan plans on building it's thrown above the clouds of heaven, and that was going to take a lot of funding and justifying, and a cold (lie) war and a staged terror attack, did just that! Along with the monopolized petro chemical industries control of drugs and fuel!
These globalist are trying to destroy nature, for they can rebuild it intheir image, in their man-u-factoring plants, and claim to be god, with all of their surpressed pattons of technology, that outdated fossil fuel decades ago!
It's time to plant the planet, and work with nature instead of against her!

Interesting. But, even though intelligent people know about this, our politicians still don't get it. OK, maybe it's the billions of dollars that flows to them to deny what most of us know, and still keep favoring oil companies.

Just think, they gave (last year) billions (tax free) to the big oil companies. (this was started with Bush and difficult to stop). We just need to take more money from the poor, woman, children, etc to fund all this. But, really, who cares. We (or rather the politicians) need to flow of big money. And the poor, woman, childrend, elderly and 98% of our population don't need it.

Makes me sick, the more I learn.

And, to think... there are those who believe we're fighting in the Middle East to protect the United States from terrorism, when in actuality, we're fighting to protect our OIL.

It's not just oil! We have over 170 US military bases around the world, guarding 'corporate amerika's' interests in everything from foods to poppy fields to mining and energy. I think "corporate amerika should pay for our military, since they use it more than we do! That would free up a lot of tax dollars to repair America's infrastructure and help American citizens.

The article states: "So when it comes down to the question of whether we can actually afford to shift away from petroleum-based energy system one should remember that the combined impact of wars, terrorism and environmental degradation is likely to send the price of oil right through the ceiling over the next two decades. Alternatively, the cost of emerging technologies is likely to decrease over time, as mass production and commercialization takes place."

So what are we waiting for?

Yah mean the USA doesn't get all this cheap oil from God because we're upright christian believers????
The environmental lobbies have been telling us this information for decades and the right has been lying for even longer...

America is controlled by the foreign oil lobby, we are feeding the hand that wants to destroy us. Just another great reason to get off fossil fuels. Thanks Bohm

Robert Orlando: I agree about the MIC paying their way. It would free up over 70 cents of every tax dollar collected. Just think, we could rebuild the infrastructure, have better social programs for all that need it, better schools, cleaner water, fix the roads, the possibilities are endless.

The oil companies are screwing us. They charge high prices for gas, pollute our water and land which we have to clean up then our government gives them subsidies even though the show record profits year after year.

William, what do yo mean Muslims never learn? I find that comment disturbing due to the fact that there is no such thing as the Muslims.
